It's Whitsun, Pentecost, the summer festival when the Holy Spirit descends with fire. In this Anglo-Saxon image the flames touch the lips of each apostle, and even the sky has turned fiery red.
'Tongues of fire they had, when with love they preached the glory of God' (Ælfric)
@IrisThinksMeh It is my cat's favorite spot too. She doesn't fall, though. She beats us in the heads with her tail as she hungrily watches the birds outside.
@TheSEFilesPod Congratulations, friends! Your podcast has brought me to a wonderful fandom community. You've shed light on things I'd never have thought about and made me laugh countless times. ❤️ I'm grateful for you and TSEF!
@TheSEFilesPod@jk_rowling I am not a man, but for the men I love I appreciate JK giving an example of a flawed man that is a great man. He lashes out when anxious, but visits vulnerable Wardle. He has "good eyesight and a functioning libido," but is never creepy. Dare I say he is perfectly imperfect?
@coolkidclubcard@TheSEFilesPod I don't feel strongly about Midge one way or the other. Like you guys said, she is a plot device.
I do think that Robin gives her fair share of push back to Strike. She just does it without interrupting or being rude. Man or no, you shouldn't be rude to your boss or anyone imo.
My friend Sørina Higgins has started a new Tolkien podcast. I really enjoyed our conversation (airs on 4/26), and in subsequent episodes she talks with really smart people including Verlyn Flieger, Carl Edlund Anderson, Simon Horobin, and Larry Swain.

@TheSEFilesPod The East Coast definitely knows "Do They Know It's Christmas."
I have heard it all my life. But like you said, it is not very sensitive or politically correct.
