@vernonluvclub_@trinhers So excited and good to know! Was it easy to get in? Sorry that the patio balcony was blocked off. That would have been an awesome perk!
OMG!!😍 NFL safety for Indianapolis Colts, Camryn Bynum finally shared his POV when j-hope was laughing with so much joy while vibing with him during Anpanman in Stanford Day 1😭 “My Boy, j-hope in the building, baby!” He also said it’s the collab of the century 😆 With this energy, it must be!🔥🔥
I’m really thankful today. I knew my limits, honored them, and didn’t apologize for it. I’m not sure I had that kind of clarity 5 or 6 years ago. Grateful for the people who’ve given me tools to live generously without disappearing in the process. That tension is hard, but holy.
@comfrt - you keep on charging me for products you never delivered.
People do not fall for their advertisements! Their customer service is non-existent.
I long for people to know Jesus. I want to say so often, if you only knew. If you just knew. And, yes, what he’d do for you. Yes, yes, of course! The gracing, saving, redeeming, cleansing, restoring, healing, transforming, gifting and on and on, beyond our imaginings.
But more than that, to know who Jesus is.
To grasp the truth of his preeminence. To understand that there is no one like him. No one who loves like him. No one who stays like him. No one who is holy like him. Righteous and just. And GOOD. He is so good.
No one who is compassionate and merciful like him. No one who knows what he knows. And forgives what he forgives.
Jesus is a stand-alone.
I long for those who do not yet know him like this to know him well enough that you may be astonished by people who represent him poorly or inadequately but you do not confuse them/us with Jesus. He will prove true when everyone else proves a liar.
I’m moved every time I get to the part of Philippians 3 where Paul states his entire aim in life and death: “I want to know Christ!”
This is what I want. This is what I long for in my living and my dying. This is my longing this morning for both of us, my sister. For both of us, my brother. Oh, that we would know the true Christ. He is the one and only.
I am tired of hero stories in fundraising. Our neighbors are not props, they are image-bearers with voice and agency. Tell the truth. Jesus meets people with dignity, the Church comes alongside, and any invitation to give should honor the people we serve rather than center us.
Government has its vital role in society. Likewise, the judicial system. Politics has its place and, as voters, we all, of course, have ours. But as the church—the collective of Jesus followers in this society—our voice would be woefully misplaced among those calling down fire from heaven on people and communities that don’t want Christ. (Or those who don’t want or share our view of Christ!) Jesus turned on his heels and rebuked James and John for this very thing. Yes yes yes, we preach and teach the gospel of Jesus and with passion and strong conviction but as those who have taken on the same attitude that was in Christ Jesus. This is required of us in Philippians 2. I’m not sure anything can be more challenging but it is our responsibility. We’re called to walk in the Spirit, crucified to the flesh.
This doesn’t mean we’re passive. It doesn’t mean we’re always silent. It doesn’t mean we don’t rebuke or reprove. It doesn’t mean we don’t grieve. It doesn’t mean we don’t get angry. But it means we catch ourselves when our anger starts turning into sin. It means we choose to act and speak from an attitude that reflects Jesus. It means we don’t play God.
My husband carries so many, checking on people constantly. Yet in one of his hardest weeks, no one checked on him. The early church bore one another’s burdens—pastors included. Ministry was never meant to be one-sided care, but a mutual love shared.
