Minister Ahmed Shiyam met with MIFCO CEO Mohamed Anas and senior management of Agro National Corporation (AgroNAT) to discuss the way forward following President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s decision to restructure AgroNAT as a subsidiary of MIFCO.
The meeting focused on effective operational integration, strengthening synergies between the agricultural and fisheries sectors, enhancing local production and value addition, and identifying measures to improve market access and operational efficiency.
Minister @Shiyamaldives met with the Managing Director of SME Digital, Badhurudheen Hassan. During the meeting, they discussed matters related to RSW financing, as well as other financing products of the Ministry implemented through SME Digital.
The discussions focused mainly on addressing the challenges faced by RSW applicants, expediting the RSW financing process, and enhancing financial support for fishers to install RSW systems and undertake related works.

A 24-member delegation from the Ministry of Fisheries, Agriculture and Ocean Resources and MIFCO is participating in the Seminar on Green Fisheries Development and Management for the Maldives, organised by the Government of the People’s Republic of China in Wuxi City from 8–28 September 2026.
Mr. Asum Moosa Jaleel delivered the opening remarks, highlighting the importance of sustainable fisheries development, knowledge exchange, and strengthening cooperation between the Maldives and China in advancing the fisheries sector.
