This will be my last tweet. I won't share anything with the likes of Alex Jones.
My new Dying Earth novel, A God in Hiding, now available on Amazon as a Kindle ebook, with the typographical screw-up fixed. I’m working on a ppbk, trying to solve a glitch with bleeds and margins beyond my skill-set. I’ll try to get a Kobo launch today.

My new Dying Earth novel, A God in Hiding, launches today on Amazon.
A typesetting glitch that wasn’t apparent in the pdf file involves the oversize letter that begins each chapter. I will get it fixed. Meanwhile, I’ll get the paperback underway.

Later this week, I’ll be sending out my monthly emailed newsletter to a list of folks who are interested in my work. It’s my main way of communicating with readers about what I’m writing.
New sign-ups get a free ebook, 9 Tales of Henghis Hapthorn.

@tomgauld@newscientist For those who enjoy the Bergman reference, here's a link to a 1968 short film parody of Bergmanesque tropes that was nominated for an Oscar:

Madelaine Kahn has a cameo in it.
If you liked my characters, Baldemar the wizard's henchman and Nachecko the necromancer, I think you'll like Banda the mute porter. Intrigue and derring-do by a sympathetic struggler.
We released our first Cypher System product! “The Porter” is a bundle of a novelette by award-winning fantasy author Matthew Hughes @hapthorn and character folio! NPC stats edited by @Qedhup

Last year, I partnered with a talented voice artist to create an audiobook edition of my Baldemar story collection. Harry Frost did a wonderful job of giving life to the characters.
He has now posted an extended sample of the audiobook on YouTube.

My other Indie purchase. I attended a fantastic session with @hapthorn and knew I wanted to read one of his crime novels. It arrived just before our doors lock for the day.
This one is set during the War in the Woods in the early 90’s here in BC.
I just published Pain and me https://t.co/q8MpwTSS7V
It's part of an autobiography in progress called A GUY JUST PASSING THROUGH that I'm putting up on a web site.
Here’s a podcast interview with Karlo and Pete from Podside Picnic, talking about me and Jack Vance, the Dying Earth, and the space-opera universe of the Ten Thousand Worlds.

Robert Runté gives my Cascor collection a review in The Ottawa Review of Books. “What elevates Hughes beyond other writers--besides dark humor, convincing world-building, and clever mysteries--is his riotous word play." He compares me to Dr. Seuss. 😲

@SapientHetero I thought they sent you directly to the Mailchimp link. Oh, well, another thing to fix when I can finally redo the website. I'm holding off until I see what happens with What the Wind Brings, which would become the main focus.
@SapientHetero I should plug the newsletter sign-ups on social media again. Been busy writing a lot. The new sign-ups I do get come from a link at the end of each ebook.
@SapientHetero I'll wait until I have one of my tech-savvy sons handy and let him try it. On the other hand, it was only getting two or three visits a day, so it's not a big deal.
