Love The Sin's discussion of how to create acceptance by not accepting tolerance seems to work hand-in-hand with an activist saying that the AIDS movement aided the move to acceptance of LGBTQ identities through humanization rather than otherization #NURelSex#UnitedInAnger
Great start to this film--mentioning that Reagan hadn't said the word AIDs despite the number of deaths really shows how ineffective leadership manifests. #NURelSex#UnitedinAnger
I keep coming back to the religious moralization of AIDS. Its victims are traditionally seen as deviant and thus unworthy of treatment, and that must have affected government inaction; it definitely speaks to how we moralize sex and 'deviance' in sex. #NURelSex#UnitedInAnger
@LikeTheWiz@BucarLiz This popped out at me so readily; the line of the protestor who said that people react when their entitlement is taken away is really telling.
@mfonseca310 @BucarLiz I definitely agree; the American healthcare system is terrifyingly and inherently broken, and failures of it like in this case and like we're currently seeing show that brokenness.
