Wealthy people use philanthropy and charity generally for tax breaks, image laundering, and building networks with powerful politicians who can open doors for their businesses.
You see how individuals do this “charity work” with an agenda in mind, that is how governments do with aid.
The EU, U.S. and U.K. all have aid money tied to one thing or the other. There is no free money anywhere. And nobody loves you that much to come save you from your own misery. This is politics. Everyone is out here for themselves.
Geopolitics is driven by national interests, power, and geography. Countries act to secure survival, economic wealth, and strategic advantage. Nobody is coming to save you. They’re not promoting a certain style of government because it will help you get your acts together. They don’t care if your acts are together, except it serves their interests.
Interests! That is all that matters.
Advertising Industry's Role In Cultural Imperialism In Africa
Have you ever glanced at a commercial on local TV in Nairobi, Lagos, Durban or Kigali and found yourself questioning why the characters, scenarios, voices, and sometimes even language does not represent the African audience that the commercial is apparently aimed at?
In this groundbreaking report for The Spearhead, @Big_Mck outlines the historical and economic rationale behind the weird and unsettling tradition of representing Africans using foreign depictions in African commercial messaging, and why this is not simply a quirky, harmless phenomenon.
The report examines how the marketing communications industry across Africa and the diaspora plays a pivotal role in creating and maintaining socially harmful ideas in the public imagination including racial, cultural and ethnic inferiority complexes, and the desire to "fix" or "mitigate" some aspect of African identity by spending money on consumer offerings.
We prefer Trump in power because he says the shy part out loud. He doesn't sugarcoat or whitewash US foreign policy he just shows the world exactly what America's true intentions are. Other US presidents drop the same bombs on our cities and say it’s for our “freedom”
I think its Yahoo boys that's making some of you clowns
You are a security man
You see me 10 times, you beg and hail me 10 times
You sell shoes 85k I can get on Temu for 50k with free delivery
You open a restaurant and use plastic takeaway to sell one plate of Egusi soup for 18k.
Just because Yahoo boys are tipping you everytime you hail them or because Yahoo boys are buying 5$ Chinese sneakers for 85k or because Yahoo boys mostly do not have taste and will accept 18k soup in a black SUP plastic takeaway
That does not mean we are all Yahoo boys
I am not giving you shishi unless you earn it. If you like hail me 1 million times
I will buy my cheap Chinese shoes on Temu and I will not accept an SUP for an 18k soup
That is precisely why a country going through a socioeconomic transition needs stiff, firm, authoritarian, nationalist bastards as its leadership - not "democratically elected" people who are subject to votes from these miserable idiots who go digging for gold on an expressway.
Lee Kuan Yew told us decades ago that when his government built high rise apartments to take poor Singaporeans out of bamboo shacks, they deliberately began peeing in the elevators and taking countermeasures against the government's attempts to stop them from messing up their own infrastructure. They had to humiliate and punish people brutally before they started acting in ways that were beneficial to their own lives.
If you want to uplift poor, colonised people, you will have to do it AGAINST THEIR WILL. Colonised people are not sane and a revolutionary must not pretend that he is up against sane, rational people who want a better life. A colonised man will steal expensive paint and empty it out into a river so that he can sell the plastic buckets and use the peanuts to play BetPesa. He will dig up his country's first high speed motorway that is going to add hundreds of millions of dollars to everyone's collective pocket, so that he can find gold nuggets and sell them for $650. He will vandalise railway lines that are meant to improve his own life so that he can sell the metal to a scrap dealer and use it to buy some pussy that night.
Colonised people are among the biggest dangers to themselves and the countries they inhabit, and any leader wishing to improve his country's material conditions despite the presence of millions of colonised people who are out of their natural minds, must be prepared to go the Stalin, Mao and Lee Kuan Yew way. Re-education camps, public flogging and forced labour so offenders can repay their debt to society.
China was once burdened with millions of useless idiots like this, but deliberate state policy removed them from the census and transformed China into the world's most successful civilisation. Hard decisions must be made in pursuit of development.
WE NO HEAR ALL THIS GRATITUDE SPEECH WHEN MESSI GET 5 BALLON D OR AND NO WORLD CUP O
UNA GO STILL DO VOTE OF THANKS ONTOP THIS WORLD CUP WEY UNA BOTTLE 🤣
The RCCG is banned in mainland China, its messages are censored in Hong Kong, tightly monitored in Russia, non-existent in Iran, and wouldn’t dare set foot in North Korea. Have you ever wondered why?
The other day i was arguing with someone about how books like 'Rich Dad, Poor Dad' are foolish to Nigerians at large.
One of the points i raised was that financial literacy cannot cover for systemic failures.
This is a prime example of the statement: “you cannot out-hustle a bad system.”
Imagine a loan was taken for this.
“When my friend Trump wants to bomb any country, he doesn't do it himself, he gives instructions”
This man is an idiot for drawing inspiration from Trump, and even a bigger idiot for believing Trump is his friend.
Fighting Fellow Africans Instead Of Reclaiming Ownership Won’t Free Black South Africans
An increasing number of prominent South Africans are pushing back against the Afrophobia narratives currently being promoted by a noisy minority within the country.
South African pop artist Mizz Gabbzz recently had a few pointedly critical words to say about the phenomenon of locals attacking African foreign nationals ostensibly out of competition for "jobs", while completely ignoring the elephant in the room that is the racialised European dominance and ownership of nearly all of South Africa's means of production.
Do you agree with her? Let us know in the comments. Don't forget to follow The Spearhead
Ironically, this heated "Olodo Uprising" conversation is actually a good sign for Nigeria.
Nigeria is finally having its first endogenous, organically-defined culture war over an issue that is intrinsically important to Nigerian society.
Every other culture war that post-colonial Nigeria has fought until now has been imported Yankee slop, or imported religious slop, or both (LGBTQ, 3rd wave Feminism, "sexual liberation", tithing, NYSC hijab, etc).
A society fighting internal culture wars over its own self-defined issues is a society that is finally obtaining an identity of its own. Long may the war continue, and may the olodos suffer crushing defeat that dooms their uprising to the chapters of a Jude Bela historical documentary released in 2045.
Since YCee has awakened Nigerians to the “Olodo uprising” debate, here’s a report on how the big tech giants weaponize their algorithms to dumb down the Nigerian/African population.
It’s my favorite report for the @Spearhead_Af from last year, but evergreen. Make sure you follow the @Spearhead_Af for more of this every single day.
The clout whores. The content strumpets.
No line they won't cross. No shred of moral restriction.
No consciousness of proxified humanity.
Horrid hollow enclaves whose only driving compass is the smell of mint.
Irrevocably depraved abominations.
Kabuki theater
Nothing but kabuki theater!
If you are truly a threat the the interests of the Nigerian state, you wouldn't be bundled out of the courtroom for.... what?
The 7th time in a row?
If you were TRULY an existential or even minor threat to the establishment, here's what they'd do to you:
1. Abduct you from your bed at 2am and whisk you away to an underground cell in Abuja, never to see daylight or your loved ones again,
2. Or hound you and force you to leave the country like @DavidHundeyin
3. Or even better: deposit 20 rounds of ammunition in your torso and toss your body full of holes into the Lagos lagoon
... Not this charade where a supposed Nigerian "freedom fighter" regains his freedom 2 days after each arrest with all his limbs and sanity intact.
A "freedom fighter" who by the way is heavily funded by the US State department to kneecap any true revolutionary movement in Nigeria before it grows teeth.
No let them whine you.
We welcome the mostly peaceful conduct of the Ekiti State election and congratulate Gov Oyebanji on his re-election.
We note concerns of accessibility for voters with disabilities, instances of vote trading & of technical issues with BVAS at some polling units.
