#MUFC are once again imposing unfair sanctions on supporters while failing to adhere to its own published standards. The club's Sanctions terms explicitly state that fans have 14 days to appeal a decision (https://t.co/vLGnkk8QbX), yet many are being given deadlines of 5 days or less (see screenshot of the deadline imposed on the email sent 17/12). This is a direct breach of their own Terms and Conditions and an apparent attempt to undermine the rights of innocent fans.
The current system for identifying "suspicious activity" is fundamentally inadequate. Members are being flagged as bots simply for refreshing pages quickly. In a ticketing environment where rapid refreshes are the only way to secure home or away returns, the club is effectively punishing fans for its own technology’s failures. The system is the problem, not the supporters.
DO NOT SEND PHOTO ID VIA EMAIL:
Even after being informed, #MUFC continue to require fans to email an image of valid Photo ID to resolve these issues. As I mentioned before, email is not a secure method for sensitive personal documents. United cannot guarantee the protection of your data when sent this way. The club MUST provide a secure, encrypted alternative for supporters to verify their identity rather than forcing them to take unnecessary risks with their personal information.
