"My first time working as an Uber driver, I was on a trip around the Lekki axis when a lady booked me.
On getting to her location to pick her up, a guy escorted her out of an apartment. The next minute, they started dr@gg!ng over money, saying it wasn’t complete. That was when I realised she was probably a r#ns girl or so, but then it wasn’t my business.
On our way to the mainland, she started complaining about the amount the guy gave her. She was visibly a&gry and kept talking about how the money wasn’t enough for what she had done.
“Ooh, what is this? This is the third day I have been with him and his friends. Even my Uber fee, he didn’t give me.”
I was just staring through my side mirror when I noticed she started pulling off her clothes to change into something more modest. I thought maybe she was going home to her parents and didn’t want them to know what she does.
Out of nowhere, I heard her say, “Bros, is it okay for me to pay in kind? Can I pay in kind?” I asked her do people pay in kind, and she said yes, that the Uber driver who brought her earlier had accepted it.
I told her clearly that I was not interested. I told her I wanted my ₦28,000. She took her time dressing up, probably thinking I would change my mind, but I didn’t.
When we got to her destination, she continued complaining about the money again, saying it was not what she expected and that she would have to call the man to come and pay her balance.
At the gate, she called someone and a man came out with a child. The child kept shouting “Mummy,” so I knew immediately he was her son, but I wasn’t sure about the man.
She got down acting tired and slowly walking inside. I then asked the man jokingly, “Boss, is this your sister, I like her oo?” we even had a small conversation during the trip. He smiled and said, “You wan collect my wife?” That was when I got sh0cked.
He said they had been married for three years and that she had travelled to Ibadan for her catering job. He even said he was the one who told her to use Uber when she got to Lagos because she would be tired.
I was in deep sh0ck. Hmm... Women are d@ng£r0us oo..."

. @piggyvest, in case you see a surge in your number of downloads and usage, don't pack. I've preached your gospel to many Ẹ̀gbọ́n àdùgbòs (EA) today. Once any of these EAs that I don't know ask me for money, our conversations go like this
EA: Àbúrò, I've been seeing you since. I've been waiting for you to give me something. But since you didn't mention it, I have decided to ask.
Me: I've given out all the cash I brought home for sallah
EA: I have an account. You can transfer to me. There's also POS over there
Me: I don't have money in my account
EA: At all at all na im bad pass. You can't tell me you don't have anything.
Me: I've locked all my remaining money in Piggyvest.
EA: Piggyvest?
Then, I start telling them the importance of locking your money and penalty for breaking it before the due date and so on. I occasionally look up to see them nodding. They saw me as a target for free money, I gave them free financial education
We need to sympathise with Gov. Seyi Makinde during this challenging security situation. However, he has an alibi to deflect blame for his own administration’s failings that resulted in such security failure in his state.
Amotekun was established in response to trans-boundary kidnappings and violent extremist attacks infiltrating the Southwest from 2019. The Southwest Governors Forum, led by the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, proposed Amotekun as an alternative security arrangement to complement the police whose command is still centralised.
While discussion on Amotekun was ongoing amidst growing concerns among Southwest denizens, the Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government considered “Community Policing” as an alternative to regional or individual arrangements.
This proposal, which was widely welcomed across the federation, included a framework encouraging State Governments to integrate local communities by recruiting personnel from those communities, while emphasising engagement of traditional rulers and religious institutions to collaborate with the community police in maintaining neighbourhood.
This “Community Policing” initiative naturally undermined the serious consideration given to Amotekun in the Southwest, as the Federal Government allocated funds to support the “Community Policing” scheme.
Lagos already had the Neighbourhood Security Corps (LNSC) in place, functioning as a security agency’s eyes across Lagos communities. The LNSC is well-funded and operates efficiently within its mandate. Introducing an “Amotekun” outfit in Lagos would not only increase the State’s salary balance sheet but also create issues of overlap and sustainability.
Instead, Lagos decided to maintain its existing community security arrangement established in 2016.
When the late Buhari Govt release money to fund “Community Policing”, many State got their fair share. Lagos implemented it to the letters, locally recruiting personnel who were subsequently trained and integrated into the Nigeria Police Force but operate within their respective communities.
Some other states got the Community Policing funds and went to do something else. I have no idea if Oyo got its people recruited into the programme, but a lot of state received funds and shut up afterwards. They already know the Federal Government will carry the blame each time there is a large-scale security breach in their domain, given the current constitutional arrangement.
This is the game Gov. Seyi Makinde is playing in this political season. If Amotekun is sufficiently funded as they had vowed, perhaps the nation would have been saved of this current situation.
Tinubu cannot be blamed for a decision Lagos State Government considered carefully to not create additional outfit that could eat deep its finances. If there was need for it, there was no way Lagos wouldn’t have created such.
While LNSC officers don’t bear arms, they are the most effective of all localised arrangements in the Southwest in terms of intelligence gathering, surveillance and timely delivery.
Bandits Invade Yorubaland
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State recently raised concerns that bandits fleeing military operations in the North-West are seeking refuge in Oyo State. Reflecting on a personal experience, the governor mentioned that during a recent retreat in Fashola, bandits had camped less than two kilometers from his location, highlighting the seriousness of the situation.Governor Makinde declared that he would not rest until every part of Oyo State is secure.
In this interview, Brigadier General Kunle Togun (Rtd), former Chairman of Amotekun Oyo State, sheds light on the bandits' invasion of Southwest Nigeria, offering expert insights into the rising security challenges and what it takes to protect our communities.
Let me tell you about naked mole rats. This live underground throughout their lives. They eat root, tubers and bulbs underground without leaving their burrow. When they come across a tuber that's big, they don't try to finish it at once.
They practice a form of sustainable harvesting. They bore into the tuber and eat little out of the softer interior flesh. They deliberately leave the thin outer epidermis (skin) mostly intact. This keeps the plant alive and healthy, allowing it to continue growing or regenerate new tissue. They'll dig around their tunnels to look for other roots and do this. In a few days, they'll go back to the big tuber, which would have regenerated to eat a little again. They're smart not to overwork the tuber or kill it. They farm and bill with sense.
Do the same wit your successful elder brother.
@Ade_Dohyeen@daddy_s_pet I like your determination.
It's actually nothing bad, moving out because he actually has a say over the shoe but for him to say he want to ask his son means a lot to me as a yoruba person.
Mining News 📰
The republic of Guinea 🇬🇳 has achieved what @officialABAT and @MBuhari failed to accomplish.
The country created its bulk railway infrastructure and for large tonnage exports and a sea port terminal for this purpose.
In 2026, Guinea's bauxite exports reached about 60.9 million tons between January and March this year, up 25.3% from 48.6 million tons in the same period last year, according to the mines ministry data seen by Reuters.
A ton is about 100$
Multiply it by 60 million tons and see how much a small country like Guinea is making in 4 months…
The Nigerian government, ministry of mines, and railway cooperation SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES.
