Most of these backups just can’t hold a candle to their superiors & it’s plain to see. A ton of self-imposed mistakes. McKinney is the only fully competent player out there, it seems.
@Dexerto Here’s the thing. The wages argument isn’t an argument. We all agree. It is what it is. So foreigners act out and don’t tip. Great. Now the 20% gratuity is added to your bill & everyone pays 20% instead of 15-20%. Cry all you want…you’re gonna pay it now when eating out. Period.
@DavidVStewart This where I sit. Wanted to delve more into PC gaming, but now I’m left considering a retro gaming collection instead. I can grab a couple of retro consoles plus a plethora of games for that amount of money & still have some left over.
How much a PC costs is irrelevant though. A consumer will only see the price tag & compare it to their available options. The price is simply too high when other options are available. & even if you consider PC prices it doesn’t make me feel like I’m getting some amazing deal
@LitForNothing Me…I’m that person…except I’m not a shill for corpos who make dunderheaded blunders. The price is unjustified given the competition/options, especially knowing the Helix will have Steam at launch. If that’s also too expensive, I, the consumer, will just switch to retro gaming
@WebDJay@dulansi I have the current-gen consoles and enjoy them each for their own reasons. Seems like waiting for Helix is the call, except this worries me about the potential cost for next-gen consoles. Like I said above, if the costs continue to rise I’ll just tap out of next-gen altogether
@dulansi They really screwed the pooch on this as this price point will alienate consumers like me who simply aren’t interested in whatever argument tries to justify a product that doesn’t VASTLY OUTPERFORM the competition it’s charging nearly double the price to access
@dulansi It’s got little to do with whether I can afford it. It just doesn’t make any monetary sense when I can wait for Project Helix which should be able to play STEAM games on it. & if that ends up being priced similarly, then I’ll just start upping my retro gaming collection.
If the next-gen systems come out anywhere around the same price as the Steam Machine then I’m just going to seriously step up my retro gaming collection.
PS6 and Xbox Helix don't need to release for another 4 maybe 5 yrs. This RAM shortage is gonna tank the gaming industry if they try and force those systems now or next yr
@_ROB_29@elsathora The Redwoods, Yosemite with Half-Dome & El Capitan, & Lake Tahoe…the California greats. That’s before we get to Mammoth, or the beaches, or the Golden Gate
@jimjustgames I pretty much buy all my games digitally now anyways for multiple reasons so it wouldn’t make a difference to me. Having STEAM on the next XBOX is highly intriguing, however.
Welp…I’m out. I have a hard time seeing too many take up this price point. This thing is probably DoA. Unless it can survive until a massive price drop, I just don’t see it.
