Yesterday was certainly a day to celebrate women in law firsts. 11 years after the first woman was called to the bar in England and Wales, the first black woman was also called.

#OnThisDay 100 Years ago, Dr Ivy Williams became the #first woman to qualify as a barrister in England & Wales.

She had waited 17 yrs to receive her law degree from @UniofOxford after passing exams in 1903, and was called to @thebarcouncil on 10 May 1922 by @TheInnerTemple.

Crucial times ahead for Finland as the Finnish government moves forward with their plans to strengthen the security of the country, most likely to occur through joining NATO.

PM Marin told her colleagues about the current security policy discussion in Finland and about Finland’s options for strengthening its security.

On 6 November, Finland celebrates Svenska dagen (Finnish Swedish Heritage Day). The day is a celebration of Swedish language and culture in Finland and of Finland’s bilingualism.
