@Xeno_TG@maximilian_ Also this is not an "employer" having to pay an "employee", which means the employer takes out taxes and pays the IRS (usually).
...or in the case of an independent contractor, having to pay the IRS themselves.
@Xeno_TG@maximilian_ Keep in mind that this bounty is probably going to be considered a gift when it comes to US federal and state taxes are concerned. This means that anything more than $10K is subject to the recipient having to pay taxes on it.
(this value may have increased over the years)
@Dikkussu@maximilian_ General rule of thumb (again, regardless of genetics): don't marry anyone you *KNOW* you're related to. If you find out after the fact, THEN look at degrees of consanguinity.
If 4th cousin or greater: keep it to yourselves.
If 3rd cousin or closer: consider annuling.
@Dikkussu@maximilian_ The problem isn't genetics or legality (although some people may think it is). It's social.
Maybe in the early 1900s it would be socially acceptable to marry close cousins in the west because of rural areas, lack of transportation and lack of partners far enough outside family
@maximilian_ Moral of the story: don't marry anyone you *KNOW* to be related to you (regardless of genetics or legality).
If you find out after the fact, then:
- If it's your fourth cousin or more distant, keep it to yourself.
- If it's your third cousin or closer, annul that shit!
@maximilian_ ...2/2
...alone (marrying someone with only one of those points true is not socially acceptable in western society), one of those points alone may be acceptable in other societies (particularly Japan).
All three together just puts it over the edge.
@maximilian_ The problem is all the stuff put together:
1) Alex/Patricia being second-cousins.
2) Alex/Patricia growing up thinking of each other as siblings/step-siblings.
3) Alex holding Patricia when she was a baby.
Granted people may have a problem with one of those ... 1/2
@JosephHobbyVA @Morris_Cody@maximilian_ 2/2 ...any sympathy is that they're probably a sociopath or psychopath, which means they lack empathy, which is the one thing that would otherwise motivate a rage-baiting cloud chasing attention addict to stop.
@JosephHobbyVA @Morris_Cody@maximilian_ So for our asshole in question that's trolling Max (as well as others with their vitriol), their addiction to attention is probably all they have to live for. They won't stop for the same reasons other addicts find it hard to stop. What makes this shithead not worth... 1/2
@JosephHobbyVA @Morris_Cody@maximilian_ It's because attention is addictive to people. Once people are deep in their addictions, they'll partake in t as if that's all they'll live for.
This doesn't just apply to direct chemical addictions (i.e.: drugs). It applies to anything that gives a dopamine rush.
@kent4433@LuciferWry@METALFACES117@maximilian_ Franklin D Roosevelt married his fourth cousin once removed. Is that still inbreeding to you?
At what distance is it no longer considered inbreeding? I’m sure you don’t have an answer because you’re only here to ragebait.
