I also appreciate that the release went as far as to add multiplayer support to mods - https://t.co/QygkW13w1h - and honestly pretty decent API overall given the technical constraints
A little bit late on this one but congrats to @voxagonlabs and everyone else on their project. This was one of the more interesting and exciting projects in the online space in recent memory and I have to say it delivered!
The Teardown Multiplayer project was a tricky one. It's finally out, and I wrote up the technical details on what we went through to get there: https://t.co/17YhNKnef5
Another thing worth noting that I've found pretty interesting - the release was also able to set concurrent CCU records, at least as far as steam charts shows - another example of being able to revitalize an existing game.
My impression of vibe coding after collecting a few more weeks of data:
As coding/debugging sidekick it's *amazing*. A real killer app for this tech. It spotted a race bug by analyzing a failed test log. No-scope headshot from across the battlefield -- insane productivity increase.
@ggsarzi@cybereality@ZPostFacto I didn’t see this linked yet but there is a talk that basically describes this solution that came out pretty recently - https://t.co/4Bcgr1LexW
New blog post: A Decade of Slug
This talks about the evolution of the Slug font rendering algorithm, and it includes an exciting announcement: The patent has been dedicated to the public domain.

Looks like they never even got to release anything after the acquisition except work on some gaas God of War that no one even asked for. Pretty crushing for everyone involved and terrible news all round.
Sony is shutting down Bluepoint Games, the studio behind the Demon's Souls and Shadow of the Colossus remakes. Sony first acquired Bluepoint in 2021, and is now closing the studio less than 5 years later https://t.co/a7ODV0SzWi
@Sosowski@AlbertSecundus While it was a weird decision the base MacBook has supported 2 extra monitors since the m4 so at least they fixed that.
As for daisy chaining if you have a newer monitor it does work when using thunderbolt - I can confirm for the pro so I assume at least the m4+ should be fine
"A new Jumping Flash game for PlayStation VR was in the early stages of development, but was cancelled, according to Shuhei Yoshida." https://t.co/NYBzotG3UG
Pleasantly happy with yesterday state of play for #PlayStation particularly how colorful all the games were! I know it’s been a while but the 360 desaturated gritty games were not my cup of tea and that trend lingered for way too long!
@house_house_ I imagine it was from the sale (I didn't see any other news) but the cool thing here is an example of games becoming more popular later in their lifetime - especially for games that aren't a live service.
Was playing through Untitled Goose Game by @house_house_ for the first time, and I guess it wasn't just me because it looks like the game just hit a 24 hour CCU record ?!
After 27 years of providing in-depth coverage of the amazing world of PC and mobile hardware, AnandTech is saying farewell. We want to thank everyone from the AnandTech community for their support and passion for what we’ve done over the years

The end of an era. @anandtech, started in 1997 by a then 14-year-old @anandshimpi, is closing its doors after 27 years. I worked there for 11 years and learned my craft. Here's my video on it. It gets a little emotional.
