#Breaking: The KRG Ministry of Electricity says #gas supplies to power plants have been reduced due to a security incident at the #KhorMor gas field, cutting #electricity generation by 2,500 megawatts. The ministry described the disruption as temporary and said efforts are underway to restore gas supplies and resume normal power generation.

Turkish power did not come to the north with dialogue, it came with soldiers, prisons, burned villages, banned words and a constant threat hanging over everyday life.

In the south and west of kurdistan and every visible trace of Kurdish existence is treated like an infection to be cleansed not a people to be heard.

They bomb our mountains, raid our cities, disappear our activists and then dare to call it security while the ground is still wet with blood of Kurdistani people.

A Kurdish child speaks their mother tongue and grows up hearing one word thrown at them again and again a terrorist. A teacher, a farmer, a singer, a student, the moment they say I am Kurdish, your regime twists that identity into a crime. A people rooted in these lands for centuries are told they do not exist, that their language is a problem and their culture a threat, their political voice a danger that must be silenced. This is not fighting terror, this is criminalizing existence and trying to erase a nation by branding its very name as guilt.

They change the names of our towns, forbid our colors and ban our songs, jail our presidents and mayors, leaders and shut down our parties.

When Kurds are killed, it is wrapped in words like operation,” counter‑terror or national security, cold phrases used to hide shattered homes and grieving families.

When Kurds demand rights, they are accused of separatism,

when they stay silent, they are treated as if their silence is proof of some hidden crime. Every path is blocked and every voice is suspect.

Kurds are not begging to be tolerated as guests in their own homeland. In Northern Kurdistan, they demand what every nation claims for itself. The right to name their land and speak their language in public without fear and organize their politics without being dragged to court and decide their future without asking permission from those who occupy and rule over them.

Recognition is not a favor to be granted when convenient but its a debt owed for decades of denial, shattered lives and broken promises.

The message from your regime is clear, “Submit, disappear, or be labeled a terrorist.

The message from Kurds is just as clear. We are here. We have always been here. We will not vanish so that someone else’s map can look clean.

What Kurds want is not domination over others but an end to being hunted, silenced and renamed on their own soil and an end to having their very existence treated as a crime.

-Entire areas have been evacuated/economic slowdown-> lower load/ higher electricity supply to other areas
-Generator electricity will become more expensive as diesel costs 📈
-Fuel supply to EDL may become more complicated
-Power infrastructure could be at risk if conflict escalates
-Biggest safeguard: distributed solar PV systems

What to do in the future:

Thinking the Kurds will gain statehood by siding with the US and Israel right now is breathtakingly naive. Turkey maintains thousands of troops at the border and dozens of bases inside northern Iraq, and Iran’s Revolutionary Guard has already shown it has lost any restraint.
