Hamas’s response to Trump is broken into two parts. The first relates to a ceasefire and exchange of captives:
Hamas “announces its approval to release all prisoners of the occupation—both living and the bodies of the deceased—according to the exchange formula included in President Trump's proposal, and with the provision of appropriate field conditions for carrying out the exchange process.”
The second, on issues related to the future of Gaza and “the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people,” Hamas states: “these are subject to a comprehensive national position and must be based on relevant international laws and resolutions. These matters shall be discussed within a unified Palestinian national framework, in which Hamas will participate and contribute with full responsibility.”
Breaking | Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson says Qatar welcomes Hamas’ acceptance of President Trump’s proposal to end the war in Gaza.
“We reaffirm our support for Trump’s call for an immediate ceasefire to facilitate the release of captives.”
He added, “We have begun working with our partners in mediation to continue discussions on the plan to ensure a resolution to the war.”

#BREAKING 🚨
Israeli soldiers have boarded the Marinette of the #GlobalSumudFlotilla and taken the activists captive.
The livestream ended abruptly after a soldier smashed the camera upon boarding. 🚢🇵🇸
@Khair_Aljabri How can democratic Western governments allow their citizens to be placed in such a position, confronted by an extremist Israeli minister displaying military force before them? @FranceskAlbs@GiorgiaMeloni
‼️New video: Israel’s extremist National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir provokes participants in the “#Sumud_Flotilla inside a prison in the Negev, southern occupied Palestinian territories, saying it is a security prison and that they will be treated as security prisoners, describing them as “terrorists” because they tried to deliver baby formula and humanitarian aid to starving children in #Gaza.
The Marinette was the last global sumud flotilla boat to evade the IDF. Just before it was finally seized on Friday morning, Sept 3, Turkish passenger Omar Faruk shouted a final message of love and solidarity for Gaza
🚨BREAKING: Dr. Usama El Baz, orthopedic surgeon at Nasser Medical Complex and with Doctors Without Borders, was critically injured by multiple shrapnel wounds in an Israeli strike that targeted a group of civilians in Deir al-Balah central Gaza Strip.
This morning, an attack carried out by Israeli forces killed Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) staff member, Omar Hayek, and seriously injured four others. The attack took place on a street where our teams were waiting to take a bus to the MSF field hospital in Deir al Balah, Gaza.
All staff were wearing MSF vests, clearly identifying them as medical humanitarian workers.
We express deep sorrow and outrage over the killing, which occurs less than two weeks after another MSF colleague, Hussein Alnajjar, was killed by the Israeli forces, in Deir Al Balah.
Our thoughts are with Omar’s family and colleagues at this tragic time. Omar, 42 years old, is the fourteenth MSF colleague to be killed in Gaza since 7 October 2023.
