With 50 mm of rainfall recorded Today on the unique occasion of #NaagPanchami On first #Shravani #Somawar of this year 🐍 , Tamhini #Ghat has become the first station in the #SahyadriGhat region—and indeed the first in the country—to cross the remarkable 8,000 mm seasonal rainfall mark during #Monsoon2026.

As of 17 August 2026, Tamhini's seasonal rainfall has reached an astounding 8,041 mm, highlighting the exceptional strength and persistence of this year's southwest monsoon over the central #WesternGhats.

What makes this achievement even more extraordinary is the speed at which it has occurred. Tamhini crossed the 8,000 mm mark in just 55 days, with the monsoon arriving relatively late this year on 23 June.

🌧️ How Tamhini reached 8,041 mm

- #June: 369 mm
- #July: 5,710 mm — potentially Tamhini's wettest July on record
- #August: 1,962 mm — up to 17 August

- Seasonal total: 8,041 mm

July alone contributed more than 5.7 metres of rainfall, followed by another nearly 2 metres in just the first 17 days of August.

The sheer intensity and concentration of rainfall over such a short period make this an extraordinary meteorological event. Tamhini has once again demonstrated why the central Sahyadri Ghats are among the world's most extreme #monsoon rainfall environments.

This is what separates Ben Stokes from the rest & sums up what a workhorse,warrior and true champion he is :

-99 overs across three Tests in the Caribbean, on what @CricViz rated as the second most batting friendly series since 2005.

-Then, in that very same year, nearly 280 overs in Test cricket. 😮

-Headingley in 2019, 18 overs on the bounce across two sessions.

-Old Trafford in 2022, the same relentless intensity against South Africa.

-Ahmedabad. Brutal heat. While others searched for relief,Stokes kept running in, delivering 11 over spells without complaint.

-New Zealand in 2024. Injured,but refused to stop. Bowled through the pain and paid the price with months on the sidelines.

-Edgbaston in the 2023 Ashes. A damaged knee, yet when England needed a breakthrough, the captain took the ball himself.

-Pakistan in 2022. Another punishing 10-12 over spell.

They need 2 bowlers who bowl in the 1st 4 overs and last 4 overs. Bhuvi and Hazlewood will be in their 37th year. Asking Bhuvi to repeat this year's performance is having too much expectations. It's not going to happen.
If RCB has to go 3 peat then they'll again have to take 35 wkts in Powerplay.
