Only if these people in power were taught how Mangroves are super important for coastal environments. If there is no outrage on this then mumbai is doomed for sure.

The Aravalli Hills are among the oldest mountain ranges in the world. They act as a natural shield for Delhi-NCR, protecting the region from dust storms, droughts, and floods & such like.

Had the Aravalli’s been located in a developed country, governments would have celebrated them, documenting their ancient history, the rulers and civilizations that passed through them, preserving folklore dating back billions of years, creating walking trails and educational tourism, and teaching citizens why these hills are critical for ecological balance and public health.

In India, however, the story was different, exposing Aravalli’s vulnerable to illegal mining, builder greed, and rampant environmental violations.

Over the years, the Supreme Court repeatedly intervened, cracking down not just on illegal activity but also on officials who failed in their duty to protect this fragile ecosystem. Experts estimate that nearly 25% of the Aravalli’s have already disappeared, most of it in the last decade.

The BJP-led Central Government, wouldn’t have any more of it & stepped in, to protect those who plundered Aravalli’s.

The Ministry of Environment changed the legal definition of what constitutes a “hill,” effectively excluding nearly 90% of the Aravalli range from protection. For reasons beyond comprehension, the courts accepted this definition.

Experts believe that the Aravalli range will disappear almost entirely and the pollution Delhi-NCR experiences today will seem mild compared to what lies ahead 20 years from now. Sirsa ji may the be remembered as the best environment minister from the BJP, who gave us an AQI of only 800 under the western metric system.
