@HassanSMohamud thinks because he has stolen so much and impoverished so many he can continue staying in office when his term expired last month just to steal more. Having the typical mindset of a tinpot thief, the Somali people must evict him by force and treat him the same way the Romanian people dealt with Nicolae Ceausescu. Once thrown out of Villa Somali, he must tried by a military court and obviously disqualified from ever running for office if he is spared the death penalty by the court. Thieves of Hassan Sheikh's genre have no shame or honour!
Wajir surprised me.
In most counties, the gift you receive is a chicken, a goat, or a beer. Whether you drink or not, In Wajir, the gift is a book.
I was gifted 7 books by local authors. Tonight I opened one, Echoes of Struggle by university student Mohammed Abdi.
Big good mistake.
It is almost 3a.m. and I cannot put it down.
Beautiful storytelling. Rich culture. Humour. Love. Heartbreak. Wajir brought to life through words.
Page 93, I cannot wait to wake and finish the compelling story. I have just ordered several more copies of the book from him
Kenya is full of talent.

Happy Madaraka Day..
It is time for international donors to evaluate the true cost of their support. This week, Somalia’s legislative term expired without a lawful replacement, while the current regime has effectively halted the country’s democratic process. The executive and legislative branches, led by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Speaker Adan Madobe, have failed in their responsibilities.
International donors should now suspend non-essential financial support to the Somali government until it reinstates a system of governance agreed upon by Somalis and proceeds with elections without further delay. In 2025 alone, donors provided about $903 million, amounting to roughly 67.7% of Somalia’s planned federal budget, or around $75 million each month. Continued funding without democratic legitimacy risks fostering political stagnation rather than supporting state-building.
It seems that Galmudug state is next for Villa Somalia.
The Director of NISA, Mahad Salad, is deploying troops to Galmudug state. Today, 120 soldiers, along with weapons, arrived at Guriceel airfield.
It appears that President HSM is attempting to take unilateral action by using force to assert control over federal member states. South West State has already been secured, and Galmudug may be next.
This approach suggests that President HSM is positioning himself to secure victory in the next election.
By engaging in armed confrontation with Jubbaland and extending this approach to South West State, while diverting largely foreign-funded national resources toward political objectives, instead of prioritizing the stabilization of areas under Al-Shabaab, HSM risks deepening divisions at a time when unity is most needed. This approach not only erodes trust in leadership but also undermines the broader goal of restoring security and national cohesion.
Calling Somali perspectives ‘disinformation’ while claiming the authority to tell our story goes beyond the bounds of reason. Those who live the reality cannot be sidelined in favor of externally curated narratives. What’s even more concerning is the attempt to portray Türkiye as purely development partner in Somalia, while simultaneously taking sides in the country’s political discourse. You cannot claim neutrality and influence the narrative at the same time.
@EIshmael_ The house of cards is collapsing faster than we anticipated. They waited until the very last moment to share the spoils with him, only to abandon the sinking ship at the eleventh hour. Now he stands isolated, as if the whole world is conspiring against him. Poor thing.
Governor Johnson Sakaja has done well, especially in Kilimani, where drainage systems have significantly improved due to major investments. The planning was also timely, with drainage expansion starting before the rains and visible across many roads. Of course, extreme weather and people blocking drainage remain challenges largely beyond his control.

The Hassan Sheikh administration has fallen apart, with ministers openly displaying internal rivalry and disorganization, while the Prime Minister has failed to unite the government around a common strategic purpose, deepening national polarization. The slogan “Somali heshiis ah, dunida heshiis la ah” has been reduced to empty rhetoric, as Somalia has been drawn into the Ethiopia–Egypt dispute and now entangled in the UAE–Saudi rivalry. The wait-and-see approach has rendered the Somaliland issue increasingly untenable, while corruption and land grabbing have reached shocking levels, bordering on outright robbery—marking one of the worst eras in Somalia’s modern history.
Whatever transpired in Ras Kamboni carries profound and far-reaching political implications for Hassan Sheikh, beyond the immediate military setback. I see this incident as a critical turning point, one that could ultimately shatter his political standing by 2026. I foresee Prime Minister Hamza tendering his resignation in the coming days or weeks. To save face, Hassan is likely to use the vacated prime minister’s post as a means to foster rapprochement with Puntland’s President, Deni. Still that will be too little too late.
SAD! The failed leadership of President @HassanSMohamud comically thinks that deciding which countries will mercifully under write his personal security and that of @TheVillaSomalia almost 20 years from the international community created the architecture and institutions of the state of Somalia is something to be proud of. Isn't it shameful that 20 years later, Somalia is wallowing in a toxic mix of misery, corruption, and insecurity...frankly, with leaders of the ilk of President Hassan Sheikh what do you expect?
I see Somalia's President @HassanSMohamud is in Nairobi. Apparently, he is lobbying H.E @WILLIAMSRUTO to support his fraudulent and illegal scheme of one man one vote when in essence he is no more than a glorified mayor of Mogadishu. With ZERO support from the federal units, President Hassan wants President Ruto to put pressure on the head of Jubaland President Ahmed Mathobe to support his scheme to rig himself in the next election. Kenya (@MusaliaMudavadi@SingoeiAKorir) should tell him point blank that the one man one vote he peddles is unrealistic and totally untenable. Instead of building a viable goverment, President Hassan wasted the last two years digging up graves and selling the land to businessmen. He also over concentrated in ensuring that the profit @TheVillaSomalia gets from the MIRAA trade increases exponentially, month after month. Hassan is reaping his poor and failed leadership and wasted a golden opportunity in state building. If he can't persuade the Presidents of Jubaland and puntland to agree on how their run their affairs, why does he think President Ruto will help him execute his TRANSPARENTLY fraudulent scheme? It's time for President Hassan to smell the coffee, stop the senseless corruption that defines his office and see to it that his tenure ends peaceful and with a transparent and fair election that elects his successor.
