It's done, we completed the project. Full circle. Babaji unwrapped the book on the morning of 24th November 2021.
This photo book has always been about the people and the culture. Always has been and always will be. Community.

“I think the bad press that Carnival receives every year focuses too much on the negative incidents, and the media only ever talks about the soundsystems. They rarely mention the bands, the beautiful costumes, or the diverse cultures represented”

Happy birthday to the great Ron Carter who was born on this day in 1937. With 2,221 recording session appearances, Carter is the most-recorded jazz bassist in history.
In addition to the bass, he has also employed both the cello and the piccolo bass, one of the first musicians to use those instruments in jazz settings.
From 1963 to 1968, he was a member of the classic and acclaimed Miles Davis Quintet. Carter is known for using everything in his bass and cello arsenal: walking lines; thick, full, prominent notes and tones; drones and strumming effects; and melody snippets. As a performer, Mr. Carter remains as active as ever.
Here, he is performing “Sunny” with Bobby Hebb live in 1971.
