Exploring my creative side by making a story (text) map for Little Red Riding Hood, as part of Talk for Writing. Looking forward to teaching this to my little Primary 4s tomorrow.

A daily feelings check-in has been a game changer! I have tried a variety of ways to gauge the emotions and wellbeing of all children in my class, but this set-up has been most effective. It encourages the children to recognise the intensity of their emotions. #RNRA

Thank you Mrs Harkness and Miss Pieczara. Thanks to all our carers and parents for dropping off bikes and no doubt fixing them up too. Such a great skill to learn. 🚲
Forensic Science! What a topic to get the children hooked into their learning. The first lesson involved evaluating the crime scene. They listed of all the evidence and drew a sketch of the scene in the form of a bird's eye view. They made sure not to contaminate the scene! #P7
Primary 7a created spooky houses for Hallowe'en. Firstly, they painted a background using concentric circles of light to dark paint. Then, they designed, cut out the house and glued them onto the background to create a foreground. Lastly, fine detail was added using a black pen.
P7 have been enjoying reading The Explorer. The children have been creating a variety of literacy pieces, as part of our novel study, including a diary entry on aged paper, written from the perspective of one of the main characters 📖

Wow! Check out these biking super stars!
During our Bikeability club, our pupils learned practical bicycle skills to stay safe while cycling.
Thank you to Mrs Harkness for leading this club and our parent helper, Steffi Keir.
🚲 The children had the best time! 🚲

Primary 7 learned about how to draw triangles using two angles and the length of one side during maths. They rotated around different stations using a carousel system. The children worked in groups to draw four different triangles successfully.

As part of our Amazon Rainforest topic, Primary 7 have been looking at the art work of Karen O'Keefe. We focused on zooming into specific parts of an animal, upscaling, and drawing it using pastels and crayons. Love how many compliments our wall display has received!

After a crazy year, I have successfully completed my probation year. So proud to say that I am now a fully registered teacher 👩🏫 and to top it all off, I am returning to the same school after the summer holidays. I couldn't be happier! 🥂😊

This was a STEM challenge using K'NEX. The children had a few opportunities to use their problem solving skills and apply their creativity in order to create a structure of their choice. One group made a walking giraffe with a movable head and tail. 🦒👷

The kids are enjoying the IDL human body topic. We had fun discovering how the lungs work by making a model of the lungs. In addition, we discussed the dangers of smoking and created anti-smoking posters. So happy with how this display turned out. #NQT#primary6#strathpgde
Happy with how this has turned out! As part of our IDL natural disasters topic, the kids painted their volcano and created the volcanic eruption using the flicking technique with water based paint. 🌋

Today P6 learned about the earth's layers for our natural disasters IDL topic. We made the layers using play dough and then cut through our world to reveal each layer. Covered technology, science and social studies in one lesson 👍😊 #NQT
