@7AFL Without Essendon the media would have nothing to talk about. Any chance we can go a day without Essendon being mentioned? There are 17 other teams.
Does anyone else find it hilarious that all these 'reports' are being talked about while Hird is sitting right there π Like he knows exactly which reports have the truth and which are just talking bs π
"I haven't spoken to anyone from Essendon... I think people know that I've always had an interest, and maybe an itch to scratch to get back into club land... if the role's right."
Jimmy Bartel responded to a report linking him to the Bombers on today's episode of Footy Furnace.
Longmire is clearly the most successful of the coaches. But he had a very good Swans team in NSW.
How will he go rebuilding a team from the bottom, in Victoria, with a team that faces more scrutiny and pressure than most in the league. Hird and Kelly I feel already know this.
@pauljames1968 Agree. Tackling has been terrible for years, just as frustrating if not more than our plan to just kick the ball high and long down the line and hope for the best.
@sumwheresmiling Yes. Personally, I think they've already decided on Hird, and everything that comes from yesterday onwards is PR leading to the announcement.
"We can say tonight that Jordan Ridley is looking at a fresh start in Queensland."
@CalTwomey reports the Lions AND Suns are interested in luckless Bomber star Jordan Ridley.

Hird and Welsh talking about going through a process to see who our next coach will be... Listening to Hird, I think they've already decided on it. I'd be shocked if Hird isn't the next coach of Essendon
A lot of respect to Brad Scott. Great interview. Looked like they were trying to get him to throw us under the bus, but he spoke well and gave some good insight on what was happening.
@WhateleySEN@HyundaiAus Sorry that this news is such an inconvenience to you Gerard. Were Essendon meant to wait a day or 2? How do you combine the sad news of the passing of Neale Daniher and Essendon sacking a coach in the same sentence.
Personally, I'm still for Hinkley. Not looking at last year, Port had checked out. But 7 finals appearances, 4 prelims. Sure never got to a GF, but we cant even make/win a final. Only 2 years did he have a negative win/lose ratio. And the players at Port loved him. Also Butters?
I get this point. If we go and get Simpson, Hinkley, Longmire, whoever. The first loss they have, "bring back Hird" will start again. Every coach is going to have that pressure looming over them until Hird comes back and either succeeds or fails
So the AFLW fixture has been released.. why can't they play every team once?
2 years in a row Essendon play no SA teams. Haven't played Port since 2022, Crows since 2024.
As an Essendon fan in SA. Makes it really difficult to be invested
And if I hear Brad Scott mention the 'youth' and 'development' one more time. We're not the only team. Port weren't out there with the most experienced team. Richmond have a young list, each game they show something. It will be interesting this week against North...
Brad Scott blaming players, calling out Caddy.. I want to know why after all these years the players still look confused on what our system actually is? Why after 2 rounds do they look like they've given up already? Thats on the coach to figure out and Scott can't do it.
So we have seen that teams are doing quicker ball movement this year. And so we decide to do slow, long kicks down the line everytime. Im so tired of this.
