@harjotbains@ArvindKejriwal This is the way. Machines are awesome.
90% of dust problem solves with the following:
- Replace brooms with vacuum machines, sweeping to collect dust only increases dust.
- Cover construction sites
- Trucks transporting building materials should travel covered
This is what alternative politics should look like.
Tamil Nadu CM Vijay’s strict directive to prohibit posters, flex boards, and giant cutouts in public spaces. His party, TVK, has also issued a strict warning to party workers, stating that disciplinary action will be taken against anyone who violates the directive.
A great precedent! 💯
What is Indian govt’s reasoning behind this implementation other than saving forex reserves, paying farmers, and creating profitable distilleries for ministers’ sons? As the demand grows for vehicles for every year, the savings would be marginal. As far as I can think, investing in electric infrastructure, policy relaxation to do business in India, AI infrastructure development, eliminating corruption with systematic changes, and incentives to EV companies (ie BYD, Tesla) could’ve paid better returns. What’s your take?
Only about 7% households in India have cars. Assuming half of that is petrol vehicles. The average growth rate in new vehicles sold has been 6.1% over past 3 years with 4.22 million PVs sold in 2023-24. Even at the current ethanol blending, India is importing maize to meet it.
20% ethanol blend petrol is selling for ₹102
85% blend is for flex fuel vehicles is selling for ₹84
Give less energy density, repair costs compared to pure petrol vehicles, will the consumer save any money here?
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees.
The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance.
Access to all other Claude models is not affected.
We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible.

Yup, some things need investment too:
- No unpaved paths/land, either grass or pavement should be there
- All projects should complete within a defined timeline. I often see road work start here in mohali and then left dusty for months.
- More availability of dustbins.
- On the enforcement part, equip some people with body cams to roam around on busy streets, put boards in those areas that there a littering fine, collect the fine with proof. After all, to keep cities the cleanest, the best way is to prevent them from getting dirty.
- If the point above doesn’t work out, there are screens in urban areas, along with fine, put up their photo on those screens for a few mins (if legal). Societal shame works wonders for our people. Mind that there are always just a few miscreants, rest of the people are okay following rules.
@harjotbains@MeraPatiala_MHS is there a policy being drafted to make this permanent? Cleanliness requires regularity, equipment, incentives, and enforceability.
