@normalishvegan Her and her entire generation of trans people of color (trans fems and mascs) represents that change, I was not clear enough about that. Going back into history, decades back, yt trans people dominated everything. Support groups, etc. all of it. It's not a one woman show, ofc.

I have been aware of trans communities of color *since childhood*, long before it was ever safe for me to come out, so I have watched our evolution. The first time I ever saw TWOC/TWOC was in 1998. We had *no representation* in the trans community for years.

@normalishvegan She's called an elder for the time she's put in advocacy, which has been a very long time. It's not her physical age. (That said, in context of her race, she very much is an elder though. In Black and brown trans communities, she would be seen as one. But that's only secondary.)
