To everyone that thinks Elon's historical criticisms of Waymo are the same as what Waymo is doing to Tesla right now - here is proof you are wrong: Waymo is literally publicly campaigning and doing everything it can to get the public, regulators, and eventual protesters afraid of camera-only systems Look at what just happened in New Jersey. That bill got drafted right after Andrew Zwicker (Senator) rode in a Waymo. Waymo engaged in the drafting phase and also got the safety driver provision removed, which would have hurt THEIR driverless model. The bill would require fully driverless AVs to have cameras AND two other sensing modalities (which would directly harm Tesla) Elon on the other hand argues against lidar from a technological perspective. Elon is not at all concerned with trying to slow Waymo down, yet it's CLEAR AS DAY Waymo IS trying to slow Tesla down (even though they are trying to do it subtly without naming Tesla) Nor is Tesla publicly lobbying attempting cause FUD around Waymo. It's always been strictly about the techological approach from Elon and with what Waymo is doing right now, it's far more nefarious than that Tesla has a clear and obvious path to scale, it is not at all concerned with slowing Waymo down. Waymo does not have a clear path to scale (let alone profitability). Waymo knows it, and they are now scrambling to slow Tesla down any way it can The criticisms ARE NOT THE SAME $TSLA
