My email ⬇️to my electricity provider, whose bills contain 4 meter readings: 2 provided by it (19 Feb (47121) & 31 Aug (47969)) & 2 provided by me (6 Jul (45792) & 31 Dec (48523.1)). Its readings are 9x greater than the average of the other 8 readings for 6 Mar 2021–25 Aug 2023!
The situation in the Gaza Strip is increasingly worrying and painful. I renew my heartfelt appeal to allow the entry of dignified humanitarian aid and to bring an end to the hostilities, whose heart-rending price is borne by children, the elderly, and the sick.
Pope Leo XIV appeals for peace in Gaza and Ukraine, and between India and Pakistan.
"I carry in my heart the sufferings of the beloved Ukrainian people. Let everything possible be done to achieve an authentic, just and lasting peace as soon as possible. May all the prisoners be freed and may the children return to their families.
I am deeply saddened by what is happening in the Gaza Strip. Cease fire immediately! Let humanitarian aid be provided to the exhausted civilian population and let all hostages be freed.
On the other hand, I am pleased by the announcement of the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, and I hope that through the forthcoming negotiations a lasting agreement will soon be reached."
I announce to you a great joy;
