Last week we announced our #VR push into #Aging. (more info here: https://t.co/Gneuwtamde)
Now, we're gearing up for September, which is all about #AR#PillPlanner, our mobile app designed to educate, gamify, and support medication adherence. #augmentedreality#CV
VR's role in the future of #education is perhaps the most exciting one, and a new report from Market Insights Reports has revealed significant growth. - https://t.co/JGxZzyWiBw
I especially like that the article mentions that #VR is actually saving the Raleigh Fire Department money on training. Some companies have already realized this and invested heavily, but more should take note.
Takeaways:
1) This isn't about the future, this is about a leading design firm making valuable use of the latest tools *today*!
2) VR is becoming the medium. Tools like Shane and Kay's software and @IrisVR_Inc's Prospect are built for collaboration and they happen to run in VR.
@n__pandya As someone who works in tech, but isn't an engineer by trade, I'm not sure I can provide a well thought out answer for you. Though I can tell you we use a lot of different languages, but Python isn't one of them.
The author makes a great point about storytelling being a powerful device for recall/retention of information. It's one of the exact reasons why studies on #VR continue to show that VR is more memorable than other learning media. #LearningSolPub
"In the modern adult learning community, there tends to be a strong focus on innovation—how can we best grab our learners’ attention and “wow” them with a training experience?" Read the full article here: https://t.co/NMDn91gPX9 #LearningSolPub
Points two (Training) and four (Talent Acquisition) are especially salient. VR training has advantages as it replicates real life experiences without safety risks. Also, millennials tend to be much more engaged with #VR than other training mediums.
We've also seen some great work by researchers using VR to treat patients with Dementia/Alzheimers. Lora Appel's work at @UHNOpenLab immediately comes to mind. https://t.co/qFX9960m1z
