@AdamPro_Actor @lrookehufc1 @Official_HUFC The years option has to be triggered while the player is still under contract which halifax didn't do. They triggered it 25 days after his contract ended. So unfortunately the year extension is null and void.

@shaymenfans A lot off teams only offer contracts till end off season as teams can’t afford to,pay wages through the off season. It’s normally stated tho that if a team makes the playoffs or cup final that contract will be extended by a couple of weeks.

@LowerLeagueLook @HGutridge So apparently the fa have said that any contract extension needs to be activated before the contract expires which wasn’t done. His contract ended at the end of the season and extension was triggered 25 days later. Same as JTC

@AFCHalifax2006 @RobLawTees They shouldn't of let his contract expire before triggering the extension. There's also the matter of common contract law which trumps anything the fa say and this won't be the only player that leaves you on a free. Your owner needs to stand up and take responsibility

@shayman72 @shaymenfans But yeah, they will see you in court if needed and the statement that comes from Halifax will be they don’t have a leg to stand on and are disappointed of the final outcome. Who ever is working on the deals at Halifax needs to stand up and admit they fucked up.
