In Scotland personal care has been free for 24 years. It has not impacted the state pension but taxes are a little higher here for the better paid. Now, Westminster will restrict pension growth in Scotland to help pay for personal care in England.
You Yes yet?
@theSNP
Scottish Labour MPs cheering a PM who says he's going to weaken Scottish pensions to help fund social care in England is just bizarre. This will hang around Scottish Labour necks until the next general election. Meanwhile Scottish energy bills are going to skyrocket. They'll be far higher than the UK average given our colder climate.
King Charles inherited £650m tax free, gets £354m a year tax free from the tax payer including £132m personal spending money and has an estate worth £22bn that’s never taxed.
Like if he needs a pay cut.
RT if you want the Monarchy gone.
#NotmyKing
McDougall on C4 News tonight telling us how important it is to save English steel. No money for Grangemouth though, not a penny of the promised £2m either. Scottish workers don’t matter to these chancers. I loathe these red Tory radges!!!! Independence can’t come soon enough!!
A de-facto Indyref is like a nuclear war. It's the *threat* of one that will end UK Govt intransigence. It's why the SNP should be demanding Andy Burnham defines the democratic route to Indyref2 and give him a deadline.
What if the deadline comes and goes? Then go into the next UK general election with a single-issue manifesto making it clear the PM forced your hand.
Yes, there can't be Indy without Westminster agreement, but that applies to an agreed Indyref as well. The point of the exercise is to change the narrative, energise Yessers, put pressure on Westminster.
We know how the BritNats will respond. They'll paint the SNP as obsessed with Indy and not with the day-to-day issues. A well structured campaign can counter that. Grangemouth, high energy prices, Brexit disaster etc.
Remember, the goal is to energise folk who back Indy, win a majority of Scottish seats and keep the pressure on for an *agreed* Indyref. That pressure becomes stronger with an emphatic win on a single issue. Moreover, the SNP will get far more broadcast coverage during a UK general election with this approach than with more of the same.
What's the alternative strategy?
Burnham in his 1st talk with Swinney tells John S. You are not getting an Indy referendum. John says OK but we can co-operate.
Burnham goes on a trip to the nations and regions of the so called UK. Never gets to Scotland. Insulting.
Why do we put up with this? Where's the guts?
They closed our only refinery yet are giving £I.3 billion for a fucking funfair in Bedfordshire that we will help fund!!! Ffs Scotland wake up, the English colonialists are shafting us!!!!!!!!
Swinney flies US to support 🏴 national football team and build business. His sports minister flies economy. BBC in meltdown. Starmer flies private jet - £60000 - for 1 game at the Euros, BBC not a sausage, ditto profligate 'royals' flying here, there, everywhere. State bias.
The FM 'business class' smear, BBC hatchet job on Glasgow, BBC ignoring the Glasgow Games, Labour China turbine veto.
These stories are breaking along constitutional lines and that's a problem for the BBC. It's taking a side. Folk who aren't political are beginning to sense it.
BBC reporting the PM is donating a part of his salary to homeless charities. Good for him.
Anyone ever heard @BBCNews inform the public that SNP FM & Ministers donated ALL their pay increases from 2008 > & paid them back into public purse for Services to the people of Scotland?
What's this? It's live BBC coverage of the European Athletics Championship from Birmingham. Yes, the same BBC that couldn't afford live coverage of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. Let that sink in.
The reason the Glasgow Commonwealth Games isn't being shown live is that Scotland doesn't have its own national broadcaster. The BBC refused to show the Glasgow games but will show London's Diamond League Athletics.
The BBC snubbed Glasgow because the city is now a political battleground. A successful games boosts Glasgow and boosts Scotland.
Our main takeaway from coverage of the World Cup is that Scotland needs its own national broadcaster. We need to see these events through a Scottish lens. Hear our own voices. Have our own emotions reflected back. We need to feel it's OK to be ourselves, flaws and all.
Hell, we might even start to embrace England if we aren't being bullied to do so and made to feel inferior.
Thank goodness we live in SNP Scotland! England's crackdown on older people is cranking up.
Now English free bus travel is to start at 67! Bloody outrageous and a warning to Scotland that continued Union with EnglandUK has its dangers. Burnham wants us all the same. WARNED!
Astonishing that Andy Burnham's threat to scrap the Barnett Formula has been completely ignored by BBC Scotland but has been picked up by BBC Wales who've challenged Burnham. What is BBC Scotland actually for? It regularly ignores HUGE political stories.

PETER MURRELL committed a crime & is now paying for it . It was not tax payers money . Stop hounding NICOLA STURGEON who was by far the best First Minister of Scotland . YES i did donate to that fund & am angry at PETER . Does it make me blame Nicola . NO & will never put me off.
The unsavoury spectacle of the British Nationalists unleashing their anti-SNP dogs of war against Nicola Sturgeon, and unloading their entire bag of political dirty tricks, in an effort to kill off Scottish independence, has led me to state 👇
If 7 years is the legal 'cooling-off' period for NI to vote on sovereignty, how is 12+ years 'too soon' for Scotland? The UK Gov accepts periodic consent in one part of the Union but denies it in another. It’s not a law; it’s a blockade of democratic precedent. 🏴⚖️🗳️
