What happens after a missed cut?
First off, it’s a terrible feeling to MC. It often feels as if you’ve put a ton of effort into studying for this one test for a really long time and you failed.
There are times when a MC feels really close and it just didn’t go your way but there are also times where you know it wasn’t and you’re in a deep hole. I’ve have had lots of both and either way it’s never a good feeling to see the tournament go along without you.
The schedule can vary based on, is there a tournament right after this? Where is next week? Can I go home easily?
If my Friday round was a morning time, I’ll prob try and catch a flight that afternoon to get back home as long as the next tournament isn’t too far away from home. Living in Dallas, it’s usually not too far away. But if I’m not close to home and the travel doesn’t make sense, I’ll practice Saturday and leave Sunday to the next site.
It’s like salt in the wounds when you show up on site on Saturday morning to just practice and many fans and volunteer says “good luck today!” In the past I didn’t know what to say but now I just say thanks! or if someone asks how’d you do today? I go pretty good! 😂
You’ll work on the things that went poorly on the week and what might be important for the next week or just a continuation of what you have been working on long term.
Have there been times where a group of us go out after a MC? Absolutely lol. I’ve seen plenty of my fellow players blacked out and glad they found their way back to their hotel rooms. After a long round and ur dehydrated, the drinks hit you FAST 🤪
Tomorrow I’ll share what happens after a win.
Instead of women being outraged by Tiger and the tampon, I would love for them to actually provide ideas to help. For example I would have Tampex team up with the PGA tour to run a campaign where they provide free feminine products at golf courses. Most don’t actually have them and during long rounds it can be a problem for us.
