On Tuesday, power demand across the Valley reached 32,270 megawatts — the highest so far this summer. Meeting demand like this takes a diverse mix of generation across our system. ⚡
For #TBT this week, we’re looking back at the Gallatin Fossil Plant on the Cumberland River in Middle Tennessee. Construction began in 1953, and its four generating units can produce 976 megawatts — enough to power more than half a million homes. Since then, modern emissions controls have been added while continuing to deliver reliable power. 🇺🇸
