I am a graduate of GSA. I live in Kilmarnock and I spend most of my time drawing and painting. My landscape and portraits are in oil, watercolour and pastel.
Kames Bay in all its moods is becoming something of a muse for me at the moment but this one is a wee bit different. Thanks to Lorna, Sandy and probably KT for the horse. Not quite finished. A Blustery Kames Bay, oil on canvas. @North_Ayrshire
I was saddened to see that the reservoirs had became something of a challenge rather than a solution. Still, they are a fine highlight of the Glaidstone walk as the sun sets behind Bute. Reservoirs, oil on canvas.
It is a fairly quiet time on the page but there are a few things on the easel. Most of these aren't quite finished but here are some yellow boulders at Portachur to keep us going.
I know I've painted Kames Bay before but it is iconic. It's also very close to our wee flat and I'll probably painted it again sometime. This time, I've concentrated on the wet reflective sand in the foreground which most of us have walked over at low tide.
Sometimes it takes a pretty yacht to draw one's attention to the handsome eastern cliffs of Wee Cumbrae. I expect to be on the other end of this view before too long.
I'm away from the tools at the moment so was pleasantly surprised to find out that this study of Bank Street has found a new home. It's unusual because all the familiar features are reversed, as they are reflected in the RBS window. I'm grateful, as ever, to William and Iain.
