It was such a peaceful movement, feel so sad that it had to take a violent turn. My heart goes out to the students and their families who were hurt. Paper leak is a very serious issue, and I am glad to know n see that the kids of our country have come together for a better educational system, and their parents supported them.

I truly appreciate the stand they have taken, showing dedication, sincerity, and keenness to study hard n make their future and a greater, educated India. This andolan, this protest, is the right way to go abt it, n the students have done this peacefully. So courageous and brave. Driven and motivated towards education, this generation will make India proud.

This issue is between the students and the educational system, it should not be hijacked politically, the credit should only go to the students of our country, and I am sure the government will also give them all the support n make it a stronger educational system. It’s a win-win situation. Hoping n praying for a positive decision. God bless all of you who wanna be educated.

Education should be the next trend and fashion, and should get trendier n more fashionable yr by yr, itna k bahar se log come to India to study and India becomes an educational hub.

On Saturday, July 18, 2026, the central government forcibly admitted Sonam Wangchuk into hospital. They claim it was out of concern for his health. However, the way he was dragged away makes it evident that the government had no genuine concern for him. After witnessing the brutal lathi-charge against protesters yesterday, it appears that the government itself has become mentally unstable and needs to be hospitalized. Those in power seem obsessed with demonstrating to the world how they crush legitimate protests and take pleasure in showing it off to the other heads of state, even when you don’t share a common language, by flashing a booming, theatrical laugh for the cameras.

After all, who exactly is Dharmendra Pradhan that the government views his resignation as a personal failure? When Manipur was in flames, this same government shielded the then-Chief Minister, Biren Singh, in a similar fashion. The truth is, the two top leaders in power have absolutely no affection for individuals like him or others of his ilk. Their attitude is: No one tells us what to do. Not the opposition, and certainly not the public. After all, we do not get elected based on votes. Our victories rely on manipulating the entire administrative machinery, exploiting chaos in voter lists, and, of course, the power of EVMs. Who cares about the students?

Yesterday, the Prime Minister spoke about everything except the actual issue at hand. There is an English term called ‘Lame Duck President’. It refers to a leader in their final term who is relatively relaxed, tours the globe, and sees their influence wane while their successor handles the actual governance. It appears that Modi has currently reached a similar stage. Even if Modi harbored a genuine desire to act on these matters, the forces vying for succession likely compelled him to turn a blind eye. History will certainly remember that the students' protest was ruthlessly crushed during Modi's tenure as Prime Minister! If anyone desires such an image for him, and if Modi is willing to fall prey to it, then there is nothing more to be said.

I have a request for Prime Minister Narendra Modi: You hold events like 'Pariksha Pe Charcha' (Discussion on Exams), so why not engage in a dialogue with the students now? Their demands are legitimate. The outcry of the nation's students is far more important than the egos of Dharmendra Pradhan and the government.

The government must also realize that this protest is not merely about students or a single examination. There is deep-seated public anger against the establishment. Anger over how a single industrialist is being propped up and the entire nation is being handed over to him. How inflation has peaked. How forests are being razed to benefit contractors. How cities are suffocating under the guise of development. And how hospitals are overflowing. This outcry is against all these issues. Protesters are being brutally beaten on orders from the Home Ministry, yet the young men and women refuse to budge an inch. This courage stems not from anger over a single issue, but from the despair caused by the overall state of the country. Therefore, the government should abandon its ruthlessness and show some understanding.

It is certain that the power gained through the Lokpal Bill movement will be lost through this student protest! Since 2018-19, I had been telling the public that they might not grasp what I was saying about this government at the time, but the day injustice knocks on their doors, they would understand! Today, that moment has arrived!

पंतप्रधान श्री. नरेंद्र मोदींनी दोन दिवसांपूर्वी तमाम भारतीयांना काटकसर करण्याचं आवाहन केलं. सोनं खरेदी कमी करा किंवा जवळपास थांबवाच, परदेशात गरज नसेल तर जाऊ नका, पेट्रोल डिझेलचा वापर कमी करा, विजेवर चालणाऱ्या गाड्या जास्त वापरा, वर्कफ्रॉम होमचा पर्याय स्वीकारा इत्यादी इत्यादी. हे सगळं का ? तर, सोनं, पेट्रोल डिझेल हे आयात करावं लागतं आणि त्यात विदेशी गंगाजळी मोठ्या प्रमाणवर खर्च होते. आणि सध्या इराण युद्धामुळे खनिज तेलाचे भाव प्रचंड वाढलेत.

बरं, मग स्वतः पंतप्रधान आणि त्यांचे सगळे सहकारी देशभर काही शे गाड्यांचा ताफा घेऊन मिरवणुका काढत आहेत, स्वतःवर फुलं उधळून घेत आहेत त्याचं काय करणार आहात आपण ? आमच्याकडून चूक झाली त्याबद्दल दिलगिरी व्यक्त करून, यापुढे माझ्यासकट कोणीही काही असं करणार नाही असं सांगणार आहात का ? चुका तुमच्या, आणि त्याचा भुर्दंड जनतेला का ?

सध्या खनिज तेलाचा आंतरराष्ट्रीय बाजारातील भाव हा साधारणपणे ९० ते १०० डॉलर्स प्रति बॅरल असा आहे. हा भाव जगाने या आधी कधी पाहिला नाही असं नाही.
२००८ ला पुढे २०११-२०१२ मध्ये अरब स्प्रिंगच्या वेळेस, २०१३-२०१४ च्या काळात ( जेंव्हा भाजपवाले खनिज तेलाच्या किंमती आणि देशाची इभ्रत यावर तावातावाने बोलत होते तो काळ ), पुढे अशीच परिस्थिती २०२२ आणि २०२३ च्या दरम्यान जेंव्हा ओपेकने खनिज तेलाचं उत्पादन कमी करण्याचा निर्णय घेतला तेंव्हा देखील बॅरलचा भाव ९० ते १०० डॉलर्सच्या दरम्यान गेला होता. या घटनांपैकी ३ ते ४ वेळा मनमोहन सिंग पंतप्रधान होते आणि एकदा तर स्वतः मोदी पंतप्रधान होते. मनमोहन सिंगांनी असं आवाहन केलं नाही की तेंव्हा मोदींनी केलं नाही. मग आत्ताच का ? काटकसर करा हे आवाहन करताना खरं कारण देशाच्या आणि राज्याराज्यांच्या अर्थव्यवस्थेचं जे काही कंबरडं मोडून ठेवलं आहे त्याबद्दल पंतप्रधान काहीच बोलत नाहीयेत. बरं जेंव्हा बॅरलचा भाव ६० ते ६५ डॉलर्सच्या आसपास होता तेंव्हा पण तुम्ही चढ्या भावाने आम्हाला पेट्रोल डिझेल विकत होतात त्यावेळेस जे पैसे लोकांकडून घेतले जे काही लाख कोटी रुपये असतील ते कुठे गेले ? त्याचं काय झालं ?

ज्या रेवडी संस्कृतीची पंतप्रधानांनी खिल्ली उडवली त्याच रेवड्या मग २०२४ ची महाराष्ट्र विधानसभेची निवडणूक असो की त्यानंतरच्या बिहार, पश्चिम बंगाल निवडणूका असोत की इतर कुठल्याही निवडणुका 'रेवड्या' वाटूनच निवडणुका जिंकल्यात. महाराष्ट्रात लाडकी बहीण योजनेने राज्याची अर्थव्यवस्था मोडकळीला आणली. महिलांना सक्षम करायचं सोडून त्यांना तुटपुंजे पैसे द्यायचे आणि ते पैसे महागाईच्या रूपाने पुन्हा काढून घ्यायचे. देशाची आणि राज्याची अर्थव्यवस्था जर नाजूक झाली आहे तर या रेवड्या वाटू नका असं पंतप्रधान ठामपणे सांगणार आहेत का ?

पेट्रोल, डिझेलच्या वापरात काटकसर करा असं पंतप्रधान सांगतात. ठीक आहे. मग हे आत्ताच का सुचलं ? पश्चिम बंगाल, आसाम, तामिळनाडू, केरळ आणि इतर राज्यांच्या निवडणुकीत प्रचार, रोड शो करताना आणि देशभरातून लाखो माणसं त्या त्या राज्यात नेताना जे कोट्यवधी लिटर्स पेट्रोल, डिझेल वाया गेलं तेंव्हा का नाही सुचलं ? या राज्यांमध्ये जो अफाट पैशाचा खेळ करून मतदान मिळवलं तेंव्हा का नाही सुचलं ? लोकांनी परदेशात जाणं टाळावं असं पंतप्रधान म्हणतात. पण किती टक्के लोकांना परदेशात जाणं आत्ता परवडत आहे ? ज्या वर्गाला परवडू शकतो त्यांना पुढच्या महिन्यात आपली कंपनी आपल्याला कामावर ठेवेल का याची खात्री नाही. विद्यार्थ्यांना परदेशात शिकायला जावंस वाटतं कारण गेल्या १० ते ११ वर्षांत आपण शिक्षणात फार मूलभूत गुंतवणूक पण केली नाही भारतात रहावं असं वाटावं असं वातावरण पण निर्माण केलं नाही. शिक्षणात फक्त हिंदी कशी लादता येईल याकडे सगळं लक्ष लागलेलं.

गेले काही महिने विदेशी गुंतवणूकदार भारतीय शेअर बाजारातून अंग काढून घेत आहेत. एक अंदाज असा आहे जवळपास दीड लाख करोड रुपये गेल्या तीन महिन्यात विदेशी गुंतवणूकदारांनी काढून घेतलेत. भारतात विदेशी गुंतवणूक होत नाहीये. पंतप्रधान आणि त्यांचे मुख्यमंत्री फक्त गुंतवणुकीचे करार करतात, त्यासाठी थंड हवेच्या देशांत जातात. बरं तिथे जाऊन भारतीय कंपन्यांसोबत करार करायचे मग त्यासाठी स्वित्झर्लंडला काय जायचं? स्वतः पंतप्रधान आता १५ मे पासून ५ देशांच्या परदेश दौऱ्यावर निघालेत, हे दौरे तुम्ही थांबवा. आणि मग लोकांना आवाहन करा.
