@d0tdash@starpukka1@Hawkeye_74 Correct. There seems to be a huge disconnect between perception and reality. Media portrayal, and social media virality all play a part.
@starpukka1@Hawkeye_74 44% of welfare spending: Illness, Disability & Incapacity Benefits.
38% of welfare spending: Low-Income & Family Support.
The migrant/asylum seeker costs mostly come out of the overseas aid budget (0.7% of total expenditure).
@LBC Looking at many of the comments, the UK is cooked. The top 1% of UK taxpayers pay the same in taxes as the bottom 93%, ie, almost the rest of the population. What do you think will happen when you push away that 1%?! Nothing to do with patriotism. Look at the numbers.
@darioperkins Indeed. Perception vs reality. Having been to many of the world’s major hubs, London is doing just fine in comparison. Unsavoury pockets are around yes, but that’s to be expected in all major cities.
@julianHjessop@truemagic68 Showing monthly PMIs is irrelevent to your point. Show where the UK sits in absolute manufacturing production between the 2 years instead. The answer is roughly in the same ranking. Not quite as dramatic as your chart.
