During lockdown, a fundamental change I developed within my psyche was due to Mr. Musk’s work on SpaceX. I knew it was worth pursuing. He single-handedly gave me that feeling of courage, permission to be myself. I didn’t think about politics. I thought about existence, free will.

Personal and professional stance on Mr. Elon Musk: Perhaps MBTI is real, because he just sounds like an INTJ to me.

Of course I’d have to say he’s an unofficial politician in the same way an artist can be (same desire to spread political influence + notable influence on others).

My moral evaluation came down to the big picture fight: the fact that NASA finds immense value in what he built + his role in what has changed our species’ trajectory forever and allowed people like me to believe it isn’t impossible to want to do more, to explore, aim farther.

Professionally, you have to do what it takes to get the job done. It takes so many people from different walks of life, from both (all) parties to get anything done, and that is the point of a shared mission/aspiration. I use my seesaw metaphor to remember to observe, tolerate.

If you’ve never backed out of the application for a16z Speedrun or the YC program, you don’t know the value of a brilliant team with all the necessary technical skills to build. I must either learn the skills (higher ed) or be okay with bringing in people who do it all for me.
