Until last week, men over 50 were entitled to a free PSA prostate cancer check. But the government has now decided to withdraw that right. I cannot for the life of me work out what their reasoning might be.
Disgusting.
The University of Aberdeen says it is “looking into” comments made by employee Heather Herbert after she publicly celebrated the death of former MP Ann Widdecombe.
Responding to the announcement, Herbert wrote:
“Some good news for once. I hope it was an extremely painful death.”
She then added:
“I hope she was handcuffed to the bed as she screamed in agony.”
A local report says Herbert offered no apology when questioned, while the university confirmed it was examining the matter.
You can disagree with every political position Ann Widdecombe ever held. You can criticise her record, her beliefs and her words. But publicly fantasising about a 78-year-old woman being restrained and screaming in agony is not political criticism. It is grotesque.
The University of Aberdeen now needs to decide whether this conduct meets the standards it expects from somebody publicly identified as one of its employees.
And “looking into it” cannot simply become the usual holding statement until the outrage disappears.

By their words ye shall know them:
Wes Streeting: If there’s a leadership contest I will definitely be a candidate.
He’s not running.
Keir Starmer: If a leadership contest is triggered I will definitely be a candidate.
He’s not running.
Happy Brexit Referendum Day Tenth Anniversary to all my fellow Brexiteers!
A wonderful day for democracy and for regaining British sovereignty.
British governments can no longer claim they don't have responsibility for their own policy failures and blame their weakness on the EU bureaucrats. British voters can hold them to account. And we do.
What costs does it attach to Britain’s booming tech sector having to come under the ambit of the three/four major regulatory acts re digital developments Brussels has passed since we left? Acts which have stymied AI in the EU. If it accords none or v little it’s not worth the laptop on which it was written.
The last sentence is the real meat and potatoes of this.
What's being promoted as a 'social media ban for children', is really an ID check for every adult.
@GMB I wonder why this Interview ever took place? Its old news and as Jenas said he was not on the show to try and get any new TV contracts or work, so why appear in the first place?
A young girl in Scotland who defended herself against migrants, only to be vilified by the media, has now been vindicated in court.
Those same migrants were found guilty of directing sexual remarks at the girls.
The British media owe her and her family an apology.
Obviously no one should be threatening anyone or any police officer related or not related to this case.
But if @HantsPolice don't like "the significant spread of misinformation online", why did they post this and then delete it when the bodycam footage proved it was a blatant lie?
Batshit Bonkers Britain
White people will be left to bleed out in the gutter if one non white cries racism.
White South Africans foretold our story.
Hang in there good people. Our moment will come
