@CalumDouglas1 @JackElsom I agree with memorising formula. Myself have memorised quite few ranging from pressure drop analysis for fluids, heat exchangers design, distillation column design equation. Those things get asked in exam, there is no way around if one wants good grades. But understanding helps.

But how do they compensate for the loss in air mass, by introducing a curvature path which is still not straight way/circular for mordern airplane trying to reduce rcs by hiding the engines. Wouldnt this serpentine intake result in air mass loss?
