I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention a pressing issue affecting myself and numerous fellow graduates of Ekiti State University (formerly University of Ado Ekiti), currently under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Joseph Babatola Ayodele.

Upon our graduation, we fulfilled all financial obligations, including a ₦37,500 convocation fee required for the issuance of our certificates. Despite this, the university withheld our certificates without providing a clear justification.

Now, as of this year, the university administration has imposed an additional ₦52,000 fee, with a strict deadline of March 25, 2025, for the release of our certificates. They have further stipulated that failure to meet this deadline will result in an escalated fee of ₦90,000. This abrupt and substantial financial demand places an undue burden on us, especially considering that many of us are currently serving in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), earning a modest monthly allowance of ₦33,000.

This situation appears to be a clear case of extortion and unauthorized financial imposition on alumni. It is particularly disheartening given the ongoing economic challenges we face as young graduates striving to establish ourselves.

Given your dedication to advocating for justice and transparency, we earnestly seek your assistance in bringing this matter to the forefront of public discourse. We believe that your involvement can help expose these exploitative practices and prompt the necessary authorities to intervene, ensuring that the university administration ceases these unjust financial demands and releases our rightful certificates without further undue charges.
