BSc Marine Science| Studied MSc in Fisheries Management and Conservation| Advocate for the Conservation of Marine Enviro/Life| Lecturer at @CU_mogadishu 🇸🇴.
Today, I defended my Master's capstone in Fisheries Management and Conservation. It has been a long journey,and I’m grateful to my parents, teachers, friends, and everyone who supported me.
I also thank @Cumogadishu, @MFBESomalia and @FAOSomalia for making this program possible.
I captured this short video in seagrass meadows at low tide. It offers practical examples of seagrass serving as nursery grounds and shelter, including an eel preying on small fishes in the area.
Grateful to co-facilitate with my colleagues the Training of Trainers (ToT) program on Fish Handling, Processing, Quality Control, and Environmental Stewardship. @MFBESomalia organized the training in collaboration with KAAD–Fishtech Joint Venture and with support from SHIIP.
Today in Brussels, the African Union met in extraordinary session after Israel’s recognition of a secessionist region in Somalia. Africa stood united: Somalia’s sovereignty is non-negotiable, and violations of international law cannot be accepted.
Delighted to attend the National Fisheries Week Conference organized by the Ministry of Fisheries and Blue Economy of FGS. This year's focus was on seafood safety and ensuring fish quality to access international markets.
Have you heard of Marine Prosperity Areas (MPpAs)?
This framework balances marine protection with sustainable livelihoods, supporting long-term economic and social resilience alongside biodiversity recovery, going beyond traditional #MPAs benefits.

I commend this collaboration between the Ministry @MFBESomalia and Navy. Many times, I emphasised the need for capable enforcement forces(Navy) to protect our marine resources. IUU fishing is worst threat to our marine resources.
@ADirshe Well done.
Excited to present my research on *“Climate-Induced Migration in Somalia”* at the AMC in Nairobi!
Big thanks to @EAIPG, @UoNairobi, & @OSPE_Somalia for the opportunity to engage with experts, diplomats & policymakers on this critical issue.

Burkina Faso’s President Ibrahim Traoré reportedly declined an offer from Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to build 200 mosques, emphasizing the country’s urgent need for development. He stated, “If the people of Gaza can pray without mosques, so can we. Our priority is not more mosques, but hospitals, schools, universities, roads, airports, and jobs for our youth. We need progress, not just places of worship. We appreciate the offer, but our focus is on building a stronger future for our people.
