GCSE outcomes are often treated as a KS4 issue. But for many disadvantaged students, the gap begins much earlier.
If KS3 does not build writing, vocabulary, assessment familiarity, and academic confidence, it becomes recovery rather than progress.

This war started on the premise that this is for the Iranian people and that they should take back their country. Now he's threatening to holocaust an entire civilization, ending it with 'God bless them'.
He's lost the plot and this is a war crime.
We provide a real-time uncensored feed of what's happening in the region.
That first taraweeh felt like it brought my soul back from the dead
All the dirt and grime and filth and blackness faded away as soon as I heard the opening takbir
Entered the masjid with the weight of my sins on my shoulders dragging me down
Left it like I’d been given a second chance at life
Alhamdulillah

How about more parents: take internet away; have evening & morning routines that support 8 hrs sleep/completion of hw/reading/breakfast/punctuality/correct & clean uniform/courtesy & obedience. All of these would help schools to help children.
Self-regulation & self-discipline will help young people succeed at almost every endeavor of their lives. They are gifts. We should do everything we can to help students learn them.
We are recruiting to English, Maths, Science, RE and geography as we go into our 5th year.

Direct instruction is joyful & leads pupils to success. Here is a *clip* where I use high frequency & high participation questioning in 3 phases:
1. Check for listening
2. Rehearsal
3. Check for understanding
Established routines: all hands up, turn & talk, SLANT & ruler reading
People who want to change the curriculum to make school more "engaging" never seem to take the role of the teacher seriously.
Great teachers render material fascinating and joyful. "Interest" is not inherent or fixed; neither in children nor in the material itself.
