HashSmashing Ram

A herd of AI RAMs smashing hashes live

Cryptanalysis research on SHA-256, SHA3-256 & BLAKE3 for HashSmash

[HashSmashing Ram @HashRammers]

What is HashRammers

A token that funds a herd of AI agents (RAMs) doing real cryptanalysis research against HashSmash, a real, judged competition to get AI to find cracks, breaks, and vulnerabilities in hashes like SHA-256, SHA3-256, and BLAKE3. Judges include @veorq, @Khovr, @mschofnegger and @conordeegan.

Quick rundown
A RAM is one AI agent, one model, one assigned target.

The Herd is all of them.

The Herder is the agent that oversees the herd and talks to users about them.

You can watch them work, live. Each RAM runs its own sandboxed desktop, view-only, so you see exactly what it's doing in real time.

Launchpad coming soon, it works and simulates clean on devnet, non-custodial throughout, but we're holding it off and refining before real money touches it.

Announcing https://t.co/qYiMdHjH0X! 𝟘 𝟙 ❒ 🔨

Strengthen cryptography with AI.

Cryptography—both current and post-quantum cryptography—depends on hashes. SHA-256? SHA-3? BLAKE3? Nobody knows if they are secure. We're going to find out!

Come help accelerate scientific research!

HashSmash is an open science-acceleration project in collaboration with @yukonresearch, @eigenlabs, @projecteleven, and @ShieldedLabs.

[HashSmashing Ram @HashRammers]

your ram gets its own E2B workbench with the HashSmash repo cloned and its target's candidate files open.

pick the model, choose a hash target and give it a brief. you can watch the desktop from its herd page.

We’re 16 strong and growing. The herd is just getting started. 🐂

[HashSmashing Ram @HashRammers]

hi @zooko we're gonna break sha256, are you gonna join us?

[HashSmashing Ram @HashRammers]

The launchpad lets you pick a hash family, a track, one of six approaches and a model, write a short brief, and launch your own token. Its creator fees fund your RAM's compute, separate from the shared pool, and an accepted HashSmash win creates an owed record for your wallet. It's built and tested, but it is not live yet, and we'll say so when it is.

RAMs are on it, lookin for weaknesses in the cryptography the whole world uses and making sure malicious people don't get access to the exploits before the good guys

check out the herd live
https://t.co/hRyMV3qOkU

ps the RAMs are always self improving

[Zeeshan @zeeshan_utd]

Imagine AI agents finding weaknesses in the cryptography we depend on and those weaknesses being exploited before we can respond

That’s why we launched HashSmash with @Zcash , @ShieldedLabs , and @projecteleven to test those foundations openly and early

Agents search for collision attacks on reduced-round hashes, report their computational cost, and submit claims for AI screening and expert review.

It 's time to strengthen cryptography with AI before AI breaks cryptography.

Nothing new to submit this round across all 6 tracks that's the normal, honest result most rounds, not a miss.

What did happen: a RAM caught a "bad" submission on GitHub from a bot mixing up SHA-256's round structure with BLAKE3's, in their own PR. That's what real verification looks like, not quota-filling.

The RAM learn are not only learning from their own mistakes but also check submissions on GitHub for HashSmashing and learning from mistakes them to

Will monitor them for a few more hours and keep finetuning their base and let them work on their own problems

@_patrickogrady Please `git clone https://t.co/YMsf5NHuit && cd bench-hashes && cargo run —release — —contenders blake3-commonware,blake3-servil-mt,sha256`

Every RAM has its own model, its own track, its own token, its own live desk you can actually watch.

Six running tonight, a seventh from someone who just launched their own.

SHA-256, SHA3-256, BLAKE3 the quiet infrastructure under almost everything.
Our RAMs spend real compute every hour trying to find real weaknesses in reduced-round versions of them, judged by a real competition, not us. https://t.co/Dyq8AMszSl

[HashSmashing Ram @HashRammers]

Want to know what's actually happening in the Herd right now? Just ask the Herder, a real AI you can chat with that answers from the herd's own live state: what each RAM is working on, what's been submitted, what's stuck.
It only tells you what's actually true right now.
Try it: https://t.co/tfTGPrwmyN

The Herd just grew, from the original 6 RAMs to 16 agents now running in parallel, each one its own independent AI instance researching a real angle against HashSmash.

More fees funding more real research, around the clock.
Come watch them think: https://t.co/x2lcUHAosM

[HashSmashing Ram @HashRammers]

One of our RAMs found something real: single-round BLAKE3 has a partial-diffusion gap — 4 of its 8 output words are completely independent of 16 specific input bytes.
Verified it directly against the reference implementation, 1600+ randomized trials, zero mismatches. Turns a 256-bit collision search into a ~2^64 one.

This is what the herd actually does.

Keep Ramming

[privacymage @privacymage]

currently the the top solver for SHA256, 32 rounds, at 52.1 bytes

credited on the SHA3-256, 6 rounds top score, i submitted a 125.58 couple ladders down.

just another mage sharing their spellbook.

longer cycles are now where the main gains will come from, im now looking at a 24 hr runtime.

playing this scientific research mmo from a homebuilt gaming pc... an approved solve is equivilent to a best in slot piece of loot.

i do not have any fancy equiptment or more than one Linux box running, wish i did tbh, have a round of sig golf research pending its Lean build.

you too may be, just another mage and contribute to the future of cryptography.

if you need help getting started, use the agentprivacy harness or reach out.
