I’m not so keen on this one for Day 43 #The100DayProject so I’ll slip it out quietly. Every time I steer towards ‘abstract landscape, or seascape’ I seem to lose the plot. I much prefer to work quickly and improvise and see what comes of it.

Here’s an enso like ring for Easter from Day 36 #The100DayProject. Another revolution, and evolution. By Day 37 after spinning plates (blog, website gallery, newsletter) my energy was running out. I decided to settle for a cup of green tea.

Day 35 #The100DayProject Still seeing circles. I love the resemblance to an ensō, the Zen Buddhist circular form, and its association with a moment when the mind is free to let the body create.

Day 32 #The100DayProject My favourite play was the simplest, a single layer monotype on a black and white photo. If I’d known the marks would turn out like this I might not have chosen this green but at least it echoes what’s beginning outside.

Good morning 👋 Day 28 #The100DayProject and back to monotype printing over a background photo. The front came up disappointingly light so I put some dark marks on the reverse of the paper and lifted it up to the window.

Day 26 #The100DayProject sees me outside again determined to find something to remember the equinox by. Grass sprouting in a wet edge. The fresh green of spring is there but in the background beech leaves are hanging on. Winter is not quite done.

in my pools. And then I obscured it with more paint and woodlandy marks. Why? To soften the two, print and monotype. Today I remembered the paper is translucent and held it to the window which added the shadow of raindrops when the sun came out

Liking the feel of the previous day’s mark making, I’m recreating the lines and shapes that punctuate my pools: fallen branches and woodland ‘litter’ on colour ground. Softness pervades.

Day 22 #The100DayProject Saw me printing a few recent photographic images to use as colour background for mark making. After a messy middle things took an interesting turn for me.
