19D OSUT Class 22-008 is in full swing. Today we took a break from more typical training to visit the Fort Benning Armor and Cavalry Museum. This trip showcases Armor and Cavalry to instill a pride in their chosen profession’s lineage.

End of Course is wrapping up to completion. The weather held out and gradually improved throughout the week. Only a few more hours until they are complete with the training requirements to be called 19D Cavalry Scouts.

Assassin Troop conducts End of Course FTX. Soldiers spend the week putting their dismounted reconnaissance skills into practice as a platoon. The end is in sight and you can feel their excitement. We’re not done yet though!

Yesterday, Assassin Troopers received their “road to war” brief in preparation for the end of cycle FTX. Delivered by the command team, this is the most formal operations order the Soldiers receive while assigned to us.

Comfort is not a requirement, the rain and cold has set in as Assassin continues to train. Yesterday, wheeled platforms began operating Stryker mounted machine guns before transitioning to night fires utilizing variants of the PAS-13s.

Assassin, arrives at Central Initial Issue Point for their Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU). This uniform pays homage to “America’s to the U.S. Army’s WWII uniforms. Hopefully our first class getting complete AGSUs to walk on grad day!

Scout Skills FTX complete. Assassin spent the week progressively building the basic fundamentals of reconnaissance in the field environment. The week culminated with a short 6.5 mile march before returning to the barracks for recovery.
