Cardinal Robert McElroy, bishop of the diocese of San Diego, delivered the opening liturgy at #2024CHA Assembly. He welcomed the #healthcare leaders in attendance saying that they are essential to continue the mission of Jesus Christ to heal those who are ill.
New to #2024CHA Assembly this year are peer connection conversations, such as this one featuring author, professor and keynote speaker Amy Finkelstein that was led by CHA’s Diarmuid Rooney and Sr. Teresa Maya.
At #2024CHA, Sr. Mary Haddad introduced Dan Daly as the founding executive director of the Center for Theology & Ethics in Catholic Health. Dan unveiled the Center’s cross-shaped logo and explained that its two parts represent the divinity and humanity of Jesus.
At #2024CHA, Sr. Mary Haddad shared that CHA created a strategic plan guided by its vision statement. The plan contains these pillars:
1. Ensuring access to care
2. Envisioning health care as a human right
3. Prioritizing the dignity of each person & advancing the common good
