Despite PMC supervision, BDA NPKL engineering team review, and IISC vetting, NPKL implementation reveals several fundamental design flaws. These flaws were reported earlier, but no timely action followed. In contrast, for the Major Arterial Road (MAR), practical changes were made beyond the DPR to address ground realities. Had similar proactive corrections been applied across NPKL, it could have emerged as a truly well-planned residential layout. Instead, NPKL today reflects a clear gap between planning intent and on-ground implementation — visible in: • Absence of footpaths • Limited focus on tree cover • Fewer parks & playgrounds • Multiple avoidable design shortcomings • continuty and connectivity issues due to pending 1000 acres land acquisition. @mlanaharis @Captain_Mani72 @hrsrajanna Happy to share a footpath drawing for 9-m road in sync with IRC / MoHUA / complete streets standards. We can have footpaths on both sides with inter locking precast/removable slabs or with Kabul stones while still providing access to utility channels for maintenance. We are sure the engineers at BDA can improvise on this or plan an entirely new design.
