सर हमारी ताकत का आलम यह है कि जब हम चुप रहते हैं, तो शत्रु सोचता है; और जब हम बोलते हैं, तो पड़ोसी रातों की नींद खो बैठता है।

Monday 23 August 1943, the day of the end of the Battle of Kursk during the Second World War
It was the largest tank battle in history.
Monday 5 July 1943, the Germans launched their attack.
The German forces consisted of almost 50 divisions: 900.000 troops, including 17 motorized or armoured divisions having 2.700 tanks and mobile assault guns.
The German assault on the salient around the city of Kursk in western Russia, was an attempt to recover the German offensive on the Eastern Front during World War II.
The German assault was unsuccessful.
The Germans soon encountered deep antitank defenses and minefields, which the Soviets had emplaced in anticipation of the attack.
The Soviets had surmised the German attack beforehand and had withdrawn their main forces from the obviously threatened positions within the salient.
The Red Army defenses were immense as the Soviets had months to prepare them.
Monday 12 July 1943, a the height of the Battle of Kursk, the Soviets started a counterattack, having built up by then a marked preponderance of both troops and tanks.
Monday 23 August 1943, the Battle of Kursk ended, one of the key battles of World War II, resulting in a Soviet victory.
It marked the decisive end of the German offensive capability on the Eastern Front and cleared the way for the great Soviet offensives of 1944–45.

From a standing start, the YC-130 was airborne in 855 feet (261 meters).
The flight lasted 1 hour, 1 minute.
American Aircraft manufacturer Lockheed was founded in 1926 and merged with Martin Marietta in 1995 to form Lockheed Martin.
Thursday 7 April 1955, the day the first production model, the C-130A Hercules, which was also nearly identical to the prototypes, was flown.
