In September 1999, the first NOAA #HarmfulAlgalBloom bulletin was issued for the Gulf of Mexico. By 2000, the HAB bulletins were updated to include satellite imagery. By September 2001, NOAA began forecasting the likelihood of blooms to appear. #25YearsofNCCOS
