#25DaysOfCoasters RCX Top 125 Rank Bonus Day 26: #1, 420 Feet Up On Top Of The World
1. Top Thrill 2 - Cedar Point
Make: Intamin/Zamperla, Model: Accelerator/LSM Launch
Opened: 2003/2024
Sometimes you have to be patient and wait for really good things to come. That was the definite case with Top Thrill 2. Just 8 days of operation in its 2024 opening year. However after much trial and error the first half of 2025, CePo got this thing running consistently to end up with over 70% up time on the year. There is only about 42 seconds of ride time on Top Thrill 2, however what is done in those 42 seconds packs in more elements, thrill (top thrills you might say) and action that coasters with 2-3 minutes of prime ride time accomplish.
You start with your âbaby launchâ 0-74 mph, a âbabyâ launch that is still faster than any in my home state of Florida. It may not be a top hat roll back, but then you then get a half way up the top hat roll back, something that every thoosie clamored for on the original Top Thrill Dragster and Kingda Ka. Well now itâs officially part of the ride. Roll backwards into an unhinged launch up to 100 mph. The horizontal positive force in reverse going backwards is unmatched on any other ride or coaster out there. Flying by the station, up the 400 foot Spike into pure weightless bliss. The sustained weightlessness at the top of the Spike, especially in the back rows is also unmatched. Free fall back down the vertical angle with great flojector, giving you the sensation of a traditional coaster drop mid ride. Then speed up to your max 120 mph, the sense of speed is great all around, but in the front row, you just better hope itâs not mayfly season! I noticed that at the max speed, on the Silver Train it starts to rattle, but not in a way that takes away from the ride, just adds more force, which is also why I found Silver Train gives the most unhinged force on the spin down, weâll get back to that soon though. That climb up 420 feet doesnât have a ton of force but is mentally just thrilling. Then the top of the world, ejector airtime 420 feet up in air. I actually felt the best airtime here in the middle of the train, Row 4 to be exact. Then the angle as you descend stares you straight at the ground from the clouds. Until you hit the spiral it just looks like youâre about to freefall straight into the ground below the top hat.
Then the spiral, some of the most intense lateral force ever. If you donât brace yourself you may end up for more than you bargained for here. I thought I seriously injured my back as silly, carefree me had my hands up and let the forces take me wherever they desired. That launched me out of the right side of the train, the spiral ends and you get thrown back against your seat, except I was not against my seat so my spine got cracked, slammed half way down my back against the edge of the train/seat. I actually heard the crack. Thought I might be seriously injured as I exited the vehicle. Turns out it was just the adjustment I needed! Thanks for being a great chiropractor TT2! And thank you to Cedar Point, Intamin & Zamperla for giving us what I consider to be the greatest roller coaster on Earth!

#25DaysOfCoasters RCX Top 125 Rank Day 25: 2, B&Mâs Zenith
2. Fury 325 - Carowinds
Make: B&M, Model: Hyper (Giga)
Opened: 2015
Personal preferences aside, objectively there is no argument for this not being B&Mâs greatest roller coaster. Carowinds is a fine park otherwise, but it would somewhat be an afterthought without this work of steel art. Fury 325 is what makes the Carolina border a destination for thrill seekers and roller coaster enthusiasts. Furyâs 320 foot drop gives you strong sustained flojector for what feels like eternity. In those several seconds the Giga+ drop feels never ending. The sense of speed the entire way through is astounding, especially front row. Thatâs natural when going 95 mph I guess though. The hills all rip giving variances in airtime throughout from ejector pops to mild floater. The star is the treble clef turnaround. Following the picturesque turnaround you get a strong lateral ejector burst on the twisted drop down into the tunnel below the park entrance. Some large hills take you into the brake run. 6,602 feet of B&M perfection, seemingly never to be duplicated.

#25DaysOfCoasters RCX Top 125 Rank Day 25: 3, One Train Ops On My Gold Medal RMC
3. Iron Gwazi - Busch Gardens Tampa
Make: RMC, Model: IBox
Opened: 2022
It is a cryinâ shame that I didnât have a full appreciation for Alan Schilkeâs RMC masterpiece until 2025. The year Busch Gardens Tampa decided to become a vampiric cash cow for Scott Ross and Hill Path Capital, sucking the parkâs blood dry through repeated failures and embarrassments like Iron Gwazi, one of the greatest coasters in the world and the parkâs signature attraction being on pathetic one train ops due to improper maintenance on the 2 of 3 trains. Sorry for that, my blood boils at the state of my home park. As for the coaster itself, it has my second favorite first drop ever, only surpassed by #2 on the rank coming next. After those sweet RMC lift clicks, 206 feet down nearly crashing into sea level at a 91 degree angle, ejector perfection. Valley heavy before rising up for an insane sequence of non stop airtime and lateral ejector heading straight into the Death Roll. The worldâs best Barrel Roll Down Drop, that makes Stardust Racersâ same element across I4 in Orlando look like itâs for babies. A sea of Over-Banked Curves and Wave Turns follows before the most aggressive Zero G Stall possible. The final large airtime hills and twists lead you into the brake run. A master class in roller coaster forces. I was shaking getting off Iron Gwazi for the first time back in 2022, now a days Iâm running back in line for another lap.

#25DaysOfCoasters RCX Top 125 Rank Day 25: 4, The Anomaly
4. ArieForce One - Fun Spot Atlanta
Make: RMC, Model: IBox
Opened: 2023
Anomaly (a·nom·a·ly) - noun - something that deviates from what is standard, normal, or expected.âš
How else do you describe one of the worldâs greatest roller coasters, an opinion that is more of an undisputed fact among the community, being at a FEC in Fayetteville, Georgia? Joe Draves and RMC cooked beyond belief on this one, delivering a RMC greatest hits, love letter to enthusiasts of a coaster layout, in a location you can just keep marathoning it at. Every elements hits perfect and flows into the next without flaw. The drop at only 83 degrees provides better ejector than most beyond vertical. The Raven Truss Dive and Zero G Stall must be experienced, I have no words for them. More airtime on some excellently profiled hills until we hit the Arcade Roll, that turns into a harsh helix exiting with another Roll just for the Hell of it. Donât think you can rest yet, the Quad Down into the brakes will have you laughing like a child or screaming in terror depending on your feelings. Some of the most violent ejector possible. Watch in my clip as this Zen Rider is almost thrown across town to Six Flags Over Georgia.

#25DaysOfCoasters RCX Top 125 Rank Day 25: 5, The Most Elusive Black Cat
5. Pantherian - Kings Dominion
Make: Intamin, Model: Giga
Opened: 2010
I wonât bore you all with telling the story of going to Kings Dominion 5 times in 2025 mostly just to ride this Panther 305, only to get 1 neutered lap on it for the 100th time. While I definitely need more laps, and a better warmed up back row experience could push 305 up even higher on the rank, for now that one lap still earned it 5th place overall and the Gold Medal of Virginia roller coasters. The Giga sized drop is among the best out there, even with the Intamin soft shoulder strap restraints there is ejector airtime, only to slam back into your seat at the bottom and black out on the greatest, most unhinged turn in roller coaster history. Thatâs not my opinion, itâs simply fact! The rest of the ride is like a grander version of Maverick, trying to throw you out the side of the train repeatedly. It has one giant airtime hill in the middle, but that didnât really hit for me (bet it would in the back row) beyond weak floater. I came off the brake run ready to ride all day long, unfortunately that didnât happen, but at least I have a good excuse to return once again to KD for their ultra elite Top 3 (#28 GGrizz, #16 TT, #5 305). PS, PLEASE SOMEONE BUILD US ANOTHER INTAMIN GIGA!!!

7. Steel Vengeance - Cedar Point
Make: RMC, Model: IBox
Opened: 2018
While SteVe definitely is one of the greatest roller coasters in the world, I am really missing what gives it the claim as best roller coaster on Earth. So many feel this is the clear #1 coaster out there and I just donât get it. No shade meant at all, itâs clearly world class here at #7 on my ranks, but Iâm missing what makes it better than the two RMCs still to come in the Top 5. The hyper height drop delivers great airtime, but not quite the full on ejector from its American RMC Hyper Hybrid counterpart coming up. The first half rides like a traditional woodie on steroids with high up over banks and hills, juiced up with RMC goodness. The second half becomes Twisted Timbers on steroids as you navigate a seemingly endless array of hills and Zero G Rolls within the coasterâs maze like structure. The final run of hills into brake run might be the best run of airtime hills ever, actually scratch that, the next RMC has a shorter, but better one. Regardless Mr. SteVe kicks off three Cedar Point coasters in my Top 10.
6. Maverick - Cedar Point
Make: Intamin, Model: Blitz
Opened: 2007
Why, oh why, has no other park asked Intamin for another one of these amazing Blitz Coasters (letâs be real here, Cheetah Hunt doesnât count)? In 2007, during the last remnants of the âCoaster Warsâ Maverick proved that bigger is not always better and world records only matter if you can do something special with them. This essentially put an official end to the âCoaster Warsâ, though they were in their last grasps anyway with Cedar Fair successfully evicting Six Flags from Ohio at Geauga Lake. You know youâve developed something special when an element goes so hard that it needs reprofiling **AFTER CONSTRUCTION IS COMPLETE** due to not meeting ASTM standards. Then even without that element Maverick still goes harder than almost any coaster on Earth. The launch out of the tunnel is my favorite launch ever, it is so powerful and the whip on the turn out of the tunnel is bonkers and if youâre a first time rider catches you completely off guard! The lateral whip and ejector that is constant the entire ride is unmatched by anything but the next coaster on my rank that was directly inspired by Mav!

8. Voyage - Holiday World
Make: Gravity Group
Opened: 2006
The worldâs greatest wooden roller coaster lives in the little town of Santa Claus, Indiana. The Voyage is like 3 wooden coasters in one. Youâve got your traditional airtime woodie section to start, then a heavy laterals based twister section, then through the MCBR down the hills for a terrain coaster. If the MCBR doesnât hit all the way, that last section becomes one of the most unhinged wooden coaster segments ever. A lot has been made of the mythical trimless Holiwood Nights night rides, but I canât imagine itâs that much greater than my back row near trimless sunset ride which greatly outpaced the opening front row ride earlier in my day at HW. Maybe someday itâll move up a couple spots when I get to the cool kids clique meet up and their victim group exclusive Voyage rides to experience it trimless at night. Even without those factors itâs firmly in the Top 10 and my Gold Medal woodie!

9. VelociCoaster - Universal Islands of Adventure
Make: Intamin, Model: LSM Launch
Opened: 2021
Velocicoaster started 2025 as my number one ranked coaster, but in a year of elite new credits, it couldnât hold off many contenders, but remains Top 10. The ride is near perfect when ridden front row at night. The Paddock section provides elite laterals and you canât see whatâs coming next. You get thrown around in those Intamin lap bars. The Top Hat provides a great ejector pop and floater the whole way down. The Zero G Stall isnât the greatest one, but is still a very fun hangtime moment. And then of course the Mosasaurus Roll over the water remains one of the greatest roller coaster moments of all time. Just a complete, elite Intamin product. If it went just a little faster and ran a little more aggressive it probably could still contend for #1, but it is at a Universal park after all.

#25DaysOfCoasters RCX Top 125 Rank Day 24: 10, Raging Into The Top 10
10. Raging Bull - Six Flags Great America
Make: B&M, Model: Hyper
Opened: 1999
The best (American) B&M Hyper and my current Gold Medal traditional Hyper Coaster can be found just outside Chicago. B&M was just straight cooking in this late 90s time period with Hypers, Loopers and Inverts, likely pinnacled by this combo airtime-twister hyper. Allegedly the Bull is not quite as epic if youâre not in the back row, but back row best row anyway so Iâve only ridden in the back. The airtime on the first drop and MCBR drop is phenomenal and wild. Instead of âFloater Airtime the Rideâ like some of the lower ranked B&M Hypers, RB delivers the most unique layout for the model B&M ever devised including a twister section that lays on decent positives during the heavy turns. With only 2 laps to my name, I canât wait to get back to SFGAm someday and marathon this thing.

#25DaysOfCoasters RCX Top 125 Rank Day 24: 12 & 11, Pennsylvaniaâs Revenge
12. Wildcatâs Revenge - Hersheypark
Make: RMC, Model: IBox
Opened: 2023
I really need to get back to Hershey to lap this RMC beauty more. I only got 2 laps, one of which was early in the day and every good thoosie knows that RMC IBox need to warm up. That second night ride was incredible though. More Step-Up Under Flips please RMC! The Zero G Stall is one of the best out there and the rest of the ride is all elite airtime and laterals. I wish I could give a better description but like I said I need more laps on this Joe Draves designed banger. One more to go of five total coasters on the rank from Mr. Dravesâ creative mind.
11. Phantomâs Revenge - Kennywood
Make: Morgan/Arrow, Model: N/A
Opened: 1991/2001
Long before RMC, the original coaster conversion was this Arrow/Morgan Frankenstein mash up. Morgan turned what mightâve been the most unhinged Arrow Looper ever into a monster of a not so traditional, traditional Hyper Coaster. Admittedly this is a temperamental beast, my first ride early in the day in June left me severely underwhelmed. Phantomâs wouldnât even rank close to #11 if that was my only ride. A later lap in the evening proved that it was actually a great coaster, but I still didnât really consider it truly elite. Come October I visit Scarywood and proceed to have 3 of the most unhinged, if not the most unhinged night rides of my life. The drop into the ravine at night is pure madness. The airtime with those just remarkable pool noodle restraints is violent in the best way possible. I almost slipped under at one point. The turns pound the positive Gs too. I kindly welcome any challengers to defeat it bc that would be awesome, but right now Iâm prepared to saying that while 11th overall in all conditions, Phantomâs Revenge is the best night ride in America.

13. Orion - Kings Island
Make: B&M, Model: Hyper (Giga)
Opened: 2020
I really cannot for the life of me understand the hate and trolling this magnificent GIGA COASTER gets. All this stupidity over 13 damn feet that you get on the drop anyway. All you Debbie Downers try to say thereâs limited airtime but youâre really just lying to yourself, stapled or terrible at riding coasters. The first drop is 300 feet at an 85 degree angle with only clamshell restraints. Unless youâve got that thing stapled down youâre getting near ejector if not ejector. I do essentially every lap, so idk just sounds like a skill issue, Mario GIF. Following the drop youâve got a 174 foot twisted speed hill that always delivers lateral flojector for me followed by a hyper height 202 foot turn around. Highlights of the rest of the ride include another 147 foot tall hill with great floater, the helix Orionâs Belt and the one final yeet dip into the brake run. Is Orion as good as 325 or 305? No. Could it stand to have another 500-1000 feet of track? Sure. Should they have made not just the drop, but the structure 300 feet to shut all of you the Hell up? Clearly. Other than those really just minor complaints, this is a fantastic roller coaster with great speed and airtime. Orion is my favorite coaster at one of my favorite parks and finds itself here at lucky #13.

14. Stardust Racers - Universal Epic Universe
Make: Mack Rides, Model: N/A
Opened: 2025
Stardust Racers, specifically the Green side, had the number one spot on this rank locked down from March to July. Only being passed up by the current number one. Rerides on current number two and three in August then made Stardust fall to fourth where it held steady until just this month. A December 2025 visit proved that while definitely an elite world class roller coaster and engineering marvel by Mack Rides and Universal, it just didnât hit the same for me as those Spring rides. In fact the Green side seriously underwhelmed and Yellow passed it up for best side. With Green no longer feeling like one of the best 5 coasters in the world due to significantly less violent airtime than before (did something change after the Crump case??) Yellow still stayed consistent, but Yellow was always outside my Top 10. Now that my overly complicated rank explanation is out of the way, Iâll keep it simple.
2 powerful launches, non stop airtime hills and top hats that vary between floater and ejector and the celestial spin inversions⊠enough said, this is Mack Rides American masterpiece, easily the best dueling/racing coaster in the world, hopefully more is to come!

15. Montu - Busch Gardens Tampa
Make: B&M, Model: Invert
Opened: 1996
Montu is my number zero. It is one of the coasters that influenced me to get into this hobby the most. B&M Inverts are my second favorite roller coaster model and Montu being at my home park is probably why. Every element hits, every transition is flawless and the coaster rides like near brand new despite turning 30 next year. The swooping drop goes into a 109 foot vertical loop that hits so hard and is one of my favorites of that element. The Immelmann is taken so heavily that it feels more like a dive loop. The Zero G Roll provides even lower negatives than Zero G and is likely the whippiest one B&M ever manufactured. And then the star of the show, the Batwing. It just has to be experienced, I canât really describe it. Block brake time, except majority of rides in 2025, it mostly just blows right through them, which makes the following 60 foot vertical loop feel like an absolute gut punch with positive force. It makes nauseous if Iâm not well hydrated honestly. Egyptian trench diving time for the finale leading into an absolutely unhinged surprise corkscrew. 90s B&M Perfection, the greatest Invert ever and thereâs really no logical argument otherwise, sorry.

16. Twisted Timbers - Kings Dominion
Make: RMC, Model: IBox
Opened: 2018
I will never get over the fact that KD themed a very extreme roller coaster to apples/an apple farm. Though I do miss out on riding an amazing classic RMC drop while at Kings Dominion, the decision to have a turn around and then barrel roll down drop for the first drop makes TT stand out as one of the most unique and best RMC creations. Every hill hits, every curve hits and every inversion smashes. The finale then does the best Steel Vengeance impression possible. 5th best American RMC in my book. Silver Medalist for both KD and the state of Virginia.

17. Legend - Holiday World
Make: CCI
Opened: 2000
Legend may not be my top ranked woodie, but it is actually my personal favorite. Floater to flojector is delivered every time there is a hill, but airtime isnât what makes Legend so legendary. Greatest laterals Iâve ever experienced, it feels like a leg work out getting off this coaster. The final turns and helix hit so hard. Iâll have to get a force reading next visit to HW. In my riding experience, only Twister at Knoebels comes close to the marathon of laterals Legend provides. I generally really prefer airtime based wooden coasters to lateral based ones but the star of the Halloween area at Holiday World is just so incredible it overcomes that bias. Plenty of airtime is still found anyway so donât go in expecting none. Back row is a must for positive force junkies. One more trip back to South Indiana for the Gold Medal woodie, yâall already know what it is, but where will it place?

#25DaysOfCoasters RCX Top 125 Rank Day 22: 18, Bronze Medalist Traditional Hyper Coaster
18. Diamondback - Kings Island
Make: B&M, Model: Hyper
Opened: 2009
After my first 2 rides on DBack in May, I didnât think it would be possible for it to be toppled for Gold Medalist Hyper. Thanks to the amazing ops of Kings Island giving me minimum verify on the clamshells, the elongated Cedar Fair B&M Hyper trains and being skilled at getting every iota of airtime possible, I got what I am quite confident is an illegal level of airtime on Diamondbackâs first drop. I donât think itâs what B&M intended. My rides since havenât been quite that epic, but still an amazing layout of hills and turns taken at 80 mph. It also gets even darker than Beast at night on the hills before the return run, so highly recommend the night ride IYKYK.

20. Pantheon - Busch Gardens Williamsburg
Make: Intamin, Model: LSM Launch
Opened: 2022
The only modern extreme Intamin LSM Launch coaster weâve gotten in the USA besides VelociCoaster (Hollywood Drift coming soon), Pantheon may not be as elite as some of the others around the world, but it still is a world class ride. The backwards airtime hill during the backwards launch is probably the best backwards airtime in the world. Great top hat as usual from Intamin and one of the planetâs best Zero G Stalls are highlights of BGWâs top roller coaster. I recommend front row for the best ride experience!
19. Storm Runner - Hersheypark
Make: Intamin, Model: Accelerator
Opened: 2004
Wow. Just wow. Thatâs pretty much all I could think riding into the brake run after experiencing Storm Runner for the first! There is legitimately nothing else like it in the world. Two one of a kind, no where else to be found in the world inversions, the Cobra Loop and Flying Snake Dive. The latter of which is insanely wild. None of that is to mention the 0-72 mph in 2 seconds hydraulic launch, one of the best out there with no Ka/TTD around anymore to upstage it, a 150 foot airtime filled top hat and a Heartline Roll added in for good measure. Insanely enough due to intensity, location inside the park and Jolly Rancher rides right next to it, this thing is nearly a permanent walk on. God bless Hersheypark!

#25DaysOfCoasters RCX Top 125 Rank Day 21: 22 & 21, Co-Silver Medalist Inverts
22. Alpengeist - Busch Gardens Williamsburg
Make: B&M, Model: Invert
Opened: 1997
I believe the most intense Cobra Roll in history belongs to this near hyper height B&M Invert. That thing just blasts you with positives Gs while throwing you all around. Everything up until the MCBR is pure 90s B&M perfection. Due to a near full stop on this block brake, the finale is taken with very little force. If not for that, Alpie mightâve ended up the Gold Medal Invert. As is, the worldâs tallest Inverted Coaster finds itself with the Silver Medal of BGW roller coasters and is essentially tied for the Silver Medal of Inverts, however we donât do ties so ever so slightly edging Alpengeist out isâŠ
21. Banshee - Kings Island
Make: B&M, Model: Invert
Opened: 2014
If not for the crap B&M vests restraints, Banshee might be in my Top 10. If only this layout was built a few years earlier when old B&M OTSRs were still fitted on Inverts. Even still being a ride based mostly around intense positive Gs, the vests donât bother me at all really because thereâs no airtime or hangtime for them to ruin. All of Banshee is a well designed and profiled monster of a coaster, but the worldâs only (RIP Moonsault Scramble) Pretzel Knot inversions is what really puts B over the top for me! I grey out almost every lap on this element. Please manufacturer another one of these B&M or anyone! One Invert to go.
Completely missed #25daysofcoasters yesterday so iâm gonna cap it off with Fujiyama at Fuji-Q Highland, this TOGO hyper has a decent first-half with some very great views of Mt. Fuji followed by one of the craziest finales iâve ever experienced on a roller coaster! đ»đą

1. Iron Gwazi (Busch Gardens Tampa)
The height and speed of Steel Vengeance combined with the aggression of Wildcat's Revenge. This is a nearly perfect ride. When I visited it was a walk on all day on 2 trains and I got 13 laps in one day

#25daysofcoasters day 24
2. Wildcat's Revenge (Hersheypark)
The coaster that made me an enthusiast. The coaster I have more rides on than any other. I have ridden this first train of the day, last train, 100 degrees, 35 degrees, full train and zen ride and it hits every time
