Two Haiku Tuesday #2HT
Terrible day dropping my daughter off was a two hour ordeal so all my writing time was eaten up so… Haikus! They bring peace to my heart so let’s go.
1. Rider talking about taking his last child to college.
Empty swings sway slow,
laughter fades with distant days
Memory lingers
2. Watching a man row his boat in the morning.
Sunrise kisses waves
oars dip in tranquil embrace
daybreak's wavelike dance.

It's Time for #2HT on Wednesday.
Monday's holiday screwed with my regular schedule. So here we go. Ok challenge time, I don't really feel like haiku today but that's when you have to get mean, I mean plum mad dog mean, dig deep and dot it anyway.
1. Went for a walk with Clark Dog
Leash taut, nose to ground
Scent leads through whispers of grass
Owner trails behind
2. One of the riders on my bus route passed away.
Rose coat, weathered hands
Petals bloom on morning bus
Grace in quiet lands
Bonus Haiku: We all deserve a bonus
Jingle breaks the hush
Lost keys found in morning light
Joy unlocks the rush

2. Driving my daughter
In the car we share
her dreams weave through the open road
time slips through our hands
This is a somber time for me. The annual trip to the coast makes the pain of missing family return. I’m better now. Kids will do that.

1. Watched my Granddaughter splash away in a swimming pool for the first time. What is not to love.
Chubby hands reach out
Splashing dreams in liquid blue
Smiles bloom like flowers
2. A toll is taken on you over time f you see a drugged out person. Or an OD being worked on by medics. Day after day, week after weeks.
A weary soul sleeps
City's heart beats, Oblivious
To the one who weeps.
It just hits you like that. Another OD and I drive by in my bus and suddenly tears. Tears for all that has been lost just to get here.

1. Inspired by elderly rider who always waits for wife to come home.
Buses pass, she's late
Spring breeze stirs fallen blossoms,
Love's patience abides.
2. I passed a parked car today and a toddler was at wheel pretending to drive.
Tiny hands on wheel
Laughter echoes, dreams take flight— Parked car, boundless joys.
I'm not sure either conforms to haiku. Moving On.
