Day 16 of #30daysofdatachallengewithDCA Today I went deeper into views, turns out there are two types.
A regular view runs fresh every time you query it, always current but no data is stored.
A materialized view actually saves the result to disk, making reads faster.

Today I explored Views in database design. On the surface, a view might look just like a table but unlike a table, it stores no data of its own.

Today I learned about Database Normal Forms
1NF: One value per cell, no lists
2NF: Every column depends on the whole key
3NF: Every column depends on only the key
Basically, normalization = organizing your tables so nothing is messy.

Not only can you nest a subquery inside your WHERE clause, you can also use it in your SELECT and FROM statements.
Today’s exercise had me using GROUP BY (longer lines of code 😮💨) but also required a subquery.
