Are you new to the SOC environment and want to see what type of auditing is turned on? From a Domain Controller, open a command prompt and run this command. This is one of first things I check for when I’m in a new SOC.

If you see a file that doesn’t have a file extension, one of your analysis steps could be to check netflow data or Sysmon Event ID 15 for the Zone Identifier. This will tell where the file came from. Then you can pivot from there.
