#40YearsFriday 1999-2000 saw the return of Janet Barker to BGS. A Chemistry teacher here from 1983–1991, Janet returned to fill the Deputy Head vacancy created by Dr Mascord’s appointment as Headmaster – the first female Deputy in BGS’s long history. #40YearsofCoeducation

#40Yearsin40Weeks has reached the 1990-91 academic year. This year we said farewell to the pioneer girls who had joined the Lower School in 1980 as they reached the Upper Sixth - as reported in the Bristol Post . #40YearsofCoeducation
Also in 1989, the @DofE award scheme launched at BGS, with just over 30 participants – these days, around 130 pupils undertake the Bronze Award and BGS is one of the largest DofE centres in the southwest. #40YearsofCoeducation
